Spring Sale! March and April Savings. Visit our cozy, ocean-view home
A spacious, sunny ocean view home, facing the channel. Located in a small neighborhood (with the ocean on one side and trees and city park on the other) our property overlooks the entrance to channel and nearby islands, and Pearson Cove. The Kodiak Boatyard is across the street and is typically busy in May and September when commercial fishing occurs, usually quiet in the summer. We have recently expanded our services as a fully furnished home to month to month leases for professional, project managers, or short term needs for folks, available between September and May. Please inquire for the special rate.
Home area is 1600 sq. feet. Waking up to a morning cup of coffee or tea, while gazing out the many windows facing the ocean is a pleasure.
Just a few minute walk from downtown Kodiak, the house faces due south, with spectacular views of the ocean and nearby Woody Island and Near Island. Relax and watch the abundant wildlife of Kodiak: many eagles, sea lions, sea otters and sea lions. Our home's location is the perfect view for watching the many commercial fishing and pleasure boats coming and going. We provide a booklet to help identify the many different vessels.
The first floor has a warm, maple kitchen, our cupboards are full of pots and pans, utensils, and dishes. Local Kodiak cookbooks are supplied for a special seafood dinner, of your local catch of the day!
The main living room and dining table are in this area. Through the french doors, are a brand-new bathroom/laundry room, and bedroom and a small sitting area with the television and dvd library. The second floor has a large bedroom with spectacular channel view, a large bathroom, and a small area for an extra futon, or inflatable bed. (There is plenty of room for more than two additional beds, especially casual sleeping for kids).

We have rented this house in the past and it has suited us perfectly. We were fishing on a charter boat in the area and the house location gave us quick access to the harbor and several restaurants.
The house is neat and clean and has a great view of the harbor.
We stayed at Lacy's house for 4 days and had a great time. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms it worked perfectly for the 4 of us. Large kitchen and living area. Nice to have a washer/dryer after a day of fishing. View of the waterfront was commercial but we enjoyed. Nice to see the ferries and fishing boats coming and going. Centrally located so easy to get to local restaurants and the harbor. Looking forward to returning.
Kitchen is well equipped with every appliance. Lots of pillows and blankets. Great location next to museums, visitor center, coffee shop. Fun to watch the boats in the boat yard across the street. Games to play and Two bathrooms! Only one of the beds was in a dark room so we woke up early for solstice.
The house was supplied with everything we needed. Lacey was wonderful to work with. We would stay here again if we ever came back to Kodiak.

A fantastic stay in Kodiak and a wonderful home.
We were a party of four staying at this property and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so great to have a full kitchen with every appliance imaginable, even a KitchenAid! The beds were great and there was plenty of room and open space to visit with the rooms spread out enough for quiet when it was time for bed. Great location next to the park as well. Would highly recommend this property to anyone going to Kodiak.
It was a nice clean house. Looking to come back next September

A cozy, comfortable house with a great view of the water.
Our visit to Kodiak was wet, blustery and chilly. This warm, cozy house was wonderful to come home to! Beds are very comfortable, WiFi works great, well equipped kitchen, comfy furniture.
Our only suggestion would be, perhaps, to provide some books for reading on a cold, wet day.
Don't let out outside appearance discourage you. It's not an enticing curb appeal, but this place is a gem inside. Very spacious and comfortable, modern appliances including excellent washer and dryer. Lots of windows overlooking boat yard. Can see float planes taking off and landing in next channel over but you don't hear them. We saw bald eagle roosting in boat yard. Just a few minutes from city center. Owner was super responsive.

Clean, quiet, great location.
This house is an excellent home base for adventures. It's very comfortable and quiet. The view of the boatyard was entertaining. There is a lovely grassy partk just a few steps from the house bordering the channel and it's walking distance from a great sushi restaurant. The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars for me was that it had a fairly strong "cat" smell in the house. I would have been unable to stay there without opening the windows at all times. Fortunately, the weather was warm and that was not a problem. Most people in our party didn't mind the smell but two of us had our allergies go wild during our stay. If you don't have allergies, I would recommend this place wholeheartedly.

A Great Place to Stay in Kodiak!
The reviews prior to this one are accurate. The house is large, well located and well equipped. Four of us spent five nights here in July and we were all happy with our stay. Lots of room. Lacey is great to deal with and has everything well organized. The house was very clean. The view of the channel is interesting with many boats going by. We took charters out fishing for two of our days and it was only a ten minute walk to the dock. The best place to get your fish processed ('Kodiak Smoking' - ask for Tommy) is a stones throw away. Having laundry in the house was helpful. We got our groceries at Safeway (need a car) and ate our meals at the house. Kodiak is a beautiful place with excellent fishing and sightseeing. This is a great place and I would highly recommend it.

Good
Dishes was still in the dish washer. Laundry still in dryer. Carpet claim to be very new and clean. I had to sweep carpet on my arrival as vacuum cleaner was in pieces. Found gravel, finger nails, basically not clean to my living stabdards .I came by myself and rented the whole house so I only used downstairs bedroom. Yet, up stairways was and not clean to normal standards. Thought I rented a home across of the main harbor. It is across of the BOAT REPAIR YARD. Noisy during some nights as many worked on their boats late.

Our Experience with the Kodiak Catch Home.
Our experience with the Kodiak Catch Home was very good.
We enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious, bright, and comfortable. The house was clean and there was a lot of extra items that were nice to have, such as spices and plenty of dishes. The TV was a bit confusing but with a short call we were able to watch TV. But with so much to see and do outside we did not have time to watch much TV. The password for the web was a bit confusing at first also but we figured it out. We initially thought the whole phrase after the word 'password' was the whole password. The view was enjoyable and interesting (especially of the boat yard across the street). We watched as they lifted the big boats into the water. We enjoyed our stay and would rent the home again. It was a convenient place to stay. Its proximity to downtown was helpful for us. We appreciated being able to leave with the laundry still in the washing machine since we had an early flight.

8 NIGHTS IN PARADISE
After reading a somewhat negative review of this property, I feel compelled to give my opinion of it. I am today finishing an eight night stay with my brother in law and his son. All three of us have had a great time here. The home was indeed clean and very well furnished. The beds were all equipped with very comfortable mattresses. Owning a 50 room motel myself, I realize that not everyone will be happy with mattresses. Too hard, too soft, etc etc. The view from the home is really quite nice. In the morning you have a great sunrise. The boat yard out of our main windows is not really unattractive. We did see repair work being done but I couldn't hear any noise from the house, especially with the windows closed. For the most part, it was more of a boat storage area and not a boat repair shop. For the parking, I believe the website mentions that you have to climb steps to get to the unit. This isn't true at all. The road into the home ends right at the house. You can park at the assigned spot, immediately beside the entrance. Very convenient.
We did have a bit of trouble reaching the owner , Lacey. I missed her information that she was commercially fishing on the other side of Kodiak Island and her cell phone didn't work. She did respond to my emails promply however. If there was a need for any help, she did give the phone number of her "helper". We finally met Lacey and found her to be charming. She even gifted us with some fish from her freezer when she found out our Salmon fishing was slow. This was above and beyond the call of duty! You could walk to the downtown area but I personally wouldn't . It's maybe 3/4ths of a mile there, and at 70, I prefer to drive.
We will hopefully return, God willing.
