"The hotel is being upgraded so I'm cutting them some slack as they tried their best. Our room, beds were good bathroom was very dated with broken tiles. No hot water at the sink even after running the water for a few mins. No closet rod to hang anything. Owner was very friendly and approachable. No food or beverages on site but Spar is a minute walk away. Cheap alcohol and decent selection of food. No hair dryer and very poor reception on their wifi due to the building's thick walls. These issues should be resolved in the near future. The only reason I mention it is so youre prepared."

"Initially annoyed at check-in when the rooms that I paid for were not provided. Booked two Standard Twin rooms, and got two Queen rooms. They were able to separate the beds in one room, but not the other. I was told by the front desk that I would have needed to contact the hotel in advance if I wanted standard TWIN room, which is exactly what I had booked (!). Then one room came with a handicapped bathroom, which normally wouldn't be a concern. But the entire bathroom is an open shower room. Everything gets wet; almost no shelves to place things on; no lighting above the small/low sink. Miserable experience. The hotel has recently been updated, and everything is nicely refurbished. The new floor to ceiling heating units and bathroom towel heaters were all on upon arrival, so the rooms were unbearable hot (over 80F) with no way to cool the room down. On the bright side, the restaurant food was incredible."

"The view from the hotel room was spectacular. However, there were some shortcuts in the room that were disappointing. There was a towel heating rack that was on but didn't work and a heater in the room with a melted control knob. This gave us cause for concern with electrical problems. The hotel restaurant also had horrible service, but great food as I have posted about previously. There was a bit of a wait for checkout due to traffic too and from the train station with many parties checking in or out at the same time. Mallaig is a great town off the beaten path, though."

"Hotel looks good on picture but bed is terribly not comfortable, inside the room it start smell parfume but it’s for hiding the old smell of the dirty carpet. Under the carpet there hole so when you walk in the room you may feel smooth drop. Honestly it’s terrible outside parking is full of paper and broken bottles, breakfast is basic and I feel they reuse the stuff of previous breakfast only beans was good and bread in toaster, I’m not usually not leaving comment for hotel but I paid way too much honestly I feel it was more a guesthouse for backpacker. I prefer warn other people that if the price looks appealing it not worth it."

"We foolishly assumed that we would have enough time to pick our luggage up and make it back to our train to Glasgow. This was not the case and I phoned the front desk and the young man had our luggage ready to go so we could throw it in the cab and make it back to the train in 7 minutes. Miraculously we made it because of the young man working on May 30th at 6pm who had a line up people to check in and yet had our luggage ready for us. Thank you so much, we made our train and our next hotel reservation because of you!! We really appreciate it!!"

"This hotel is like staying at a relatives house that has lived in the same house for 50 years. It's outdated but clean. Bathrooms were updated. Mattresses and pillows were fairly low end. Staff was friendly and accommodating overall. Parking is a bit of an adventure. Not many options for dining in the immediate area. The food from the hotel, both dinner and breakfast were good with nice variety. View is spectacular if you get a bay view"

"Great inn conveniently located within driving distance of the town supermarket and dining areas. Friendly staff. Nice common areas which included an outdoor gazebo overlooking the water from which you could see amazing sunsets. Also a nice lounge/living room area with plenty of board games and books and a large kitchen. Terrific breakfast buffet. Rooms were comfortable and quiet and spacious. Recommend."
