"The hotel stay was good. The building was well maintained. And the rooms were nice.
Our two issues were that the pool we were looking to use was out of service. This was an expected highlight for me and my kids and we didn't get a chance to use it.
Also the continental breakfast was a bit underwhelming. Not a lot of options."

10/10 Excellent
"Amazing house and property! The house was Big enough for our family of four and two grandparents. Grandparents stayed in the pool house and we stayed in the main house. Hot tub heats very fast and was great when it rained. Kids would warm up in hot tub and then pop back into the pool. Property grounds were spacious and private. We saw a jack rabbit and lots of turtles. The kids caught literally 20 fish (baby perch) right off the back porch dock. My husband caught a decent size bass. The house is beautiful and has everything you could think of needing for your stay. The movie room has a huge tv and couch. We had a family movie night and used the sitting room for playing card games. Will return! Price is worth it for the space, hot tub-pool, fishing, and privacy."
"The microwave did not work. There were loose tiles in the restroom on the floor. The restroom was terrible and not keep up very well, the handles in the shower area were not safe. There were empty soap dispensers which caused hazards when showering. It had a bad patch work on the walls and finished with paint that did not match the original color. Walls were so thin between the rooms you could hear the people in the next room and people talking in the hallway."
"Easy to get in. I ordered two double beds and got a room with one double bed. The property manager said it was an old picture and they do f have two bed options. Bed was very uncomfortable. It is clean and is close to town. "
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Columbus by IHG
2/10 Terrible
"We were very disappointed with the Holiday Inn in Columbus, Texas. I would not recommend this property to anyone!
This hotel needs to be refurbished or remodeled or leveled and start over. This Holiday Inn is not like any other Holiday Inn we have stayed in. I suggest management go spend two nights in this property. See what I'm saying. Disappointing!!!

"Clean Towel had wad of black hair inside when opened to use after shower. I’m bald and my wife is a blonde, not ours. Second towel was stained with black marks, but appeared otherwise clean.
Traded them in for cleanish towels after realizing they were not fully clean.
Floor was so dirty that both my wife and I took a wash cloth to wipe off our feet after shower so as to avoid black marks when we got in bed. Floors were laminate but didn’t appear to have been mopped correctly. Refrigerator didn’t work, so had to throw out medicine after overnight temp dropped below storage limit.
Pleasant staff. Price was low and I should have realized that the standards were probably reflective of price.
Beds were okay and lights and outlets worked.
Very loud from rooms above and on either side."
"When you rent a tiny one-room house in a field you don't expect perfect conditions, but you expect a place where you can sleep, and a host who responds to big problems. Unfortunately you can't count on that with this host, even though we found a bed that had partially collapsed through the floorboards. We were willing to overlook: that the dishes were so dusty we had to wash them before using, that the shower was just a strong trickle, that there were moldy spots on the walls near the ceiling and on the a/c vent from humidity, even the big hole in the house skirting that explains the animals we heard moving around under the house at night. But WE EXPECTED A WORKING BED. The middle support under the bed had broken through the floorboards, causing the middle of the bed to collapse into the floor. There was a deep dip making it really terrible to try to sleep on. We contacted them--twice--to ask for a fix, and sent pictures to show it only needed a piece of wood or something across the hole to prop the bed back up. But although they said that they "notified their team" nobody showed up. After we checked out and complained they offered 15% off a future stay, and when we asked instead for a partial refund they said they would give 15% back but 2 days later it hasn't showed up. We paid over 450 to have a place to sleep for 2 nights but didn't get it. Renter beware."
