With unobstructed ocean views, this classic Outer Banks cottage is just for you. Newly remodeled in 2015 with vaulted ceiling, air-conditioning and ceiling fans. This charmer brings back the old days of family trips to the beach and just for the beach! With unmatched ocean views, from the sun deck, the hours will pass by slowly as you are drifted away by the tranquil waves splashing on the awaiting beach.

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The Beach Barn was exactly what we were looking for - just two of us, dog-friendly and directly on the beach. It has all of the amenities we need, is very comfy, has a fabulous deck and allows us to bring our very well-behaved furry family member. We love it and plan to stay here again next summer!

We arrived to an immaculate house (no bugs at all contrary to a previous review). The view is everything and the best therapy i know. We love this house because it is clean with a great view but also lived in and not too fussy so we can actually relax. Our pup loves it as well. Will be back next year for sure.

My back is killing me and I was forced to try to sleep on the window seat. My husband does not have any issues with his back and was in pain also. We did pay the renewal for next year but vacation is not fun when you are in pain and can barely walk.

We had a special vacation as a family including our 13 year old puppy! It was short drive to the many fabulous restaurants and the location was superb with the beach and ocean at our disposal. We read the book with the detailed history of the home and we felt blessed to spend our time at this wonderful place.

The property description was spot on - amenities were as advertised and the location is perfect right on the beach. The house is clean and well-maintained, and dog-friendly (a plus for us!) We appreciated the gates on the deck to keep our pup (or a small child) contained. We spent a ton of time on the back deck and loved the tall chairs, picnic table and giant deck umbrella. Watched a beautiful sunset or two from the front deck chairs too! We have rented through Carolina Shores years with this property and others, and every time our experience is great. Would totally recommend this property and rental company,and have pre-reserved for 2026! Thank you for providing such a great experience!
