Experience the grandeur of Kingston’s fairy-tale “McIntosh Castle”; a one-of-a-kind property. For the first time in it’s history, you have the opportunity to experience luxury living in this charming abode. The petite one-and-a-half-storey castle was built in 1852 by Scottish shipowner Donald McIntosh and was lovingly restored in 2023 by local heritage carpenter, Peter Reid. The space This historic and unique property boasts 2,500 square feet of luxurious living space over two levels, featuring original hardwood floors, high ceilings, and general splendour. From the castle, you can enjoy stunning views of City Park and the Frontenac County Courthouse, and walk to everything downtown Kingston has to offer, including Queen’s University Campus, Market Square, bars and restaurants, the night life, and the waterfront trails and swimming spots. The Royal Military College and St. Lawrence College are also within easy reach by bus or car.
On the second floor of this enchanting castle, you will find three exquisite bedrooms, each offering a different and delightful experience. The bedrooms are spacious and cozy, with plush bedding, elegant furniture, and charming details that reflect the castle’s rich history. The master bedroom features a queen bed and an elegant, glass-enclosed ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom boasts a king bed, exposed brick and limestone walls, and a cathedral ceiling.
