"Great location in the centre of Aberdeen. Welcoming staff. Very comfortable, clean and modern room, super quiet. While we didn’t take advantage of it as we were near the end of our trip, the onsite laundry including soap was a great extra amenity. Nice breakfast"
"The Mercure is an older and I suspect much grander hotel at one time. It has a sense of opulence about it with wide staircases, high ceilings and stained glass windows, however there are also signs of aging, i.e. worn carpets, old windows. I think it adds to the charm. The breakfast staff were very attentive and pleasant. Breakfast was typical fare, with adequate choices available. My room was well appointed and the bed comfortable. My only complaint was noise made by the fire door slamming shut when people went through late at night. The location was a short walk from the central bus/ train station, and across the street from the union terrace gardens, a little green oasis in this granite city. I enjoyed my stay and would come again."
"Room was clean and spacious but they could have made better use of the space.
The staff were sufficient but no real interest.
Disappointingly, there was the car park tax which many hotel employ these days but at least it was secure.
Breakfast was buffet style which isn’t my first choice.
Overall okay for a few nights and well situated."
"Had a great two night stay here while exploring the city and surrounding area. I arrived very early as came up on the sleeper train. Dropped my bag off and went off wandering. After a couple of hours I didn’t feel great so on the slim off chance headed back to the hotel, explained that I wasn’t feeling 100% and if there was any chance I could get into a room. This was no problem at all and they quickly found me a room that was available to be used. Was extremely grateful for this and told the lady who served me this again when she came and fixed my TV the following day! Staff made me feel welcome and were always helpful. The breakfast was good as was the one evening meal I had there (although they had ran out of chips that night). Only minor issue was having no power supplies near the bed in the room but that’s very minor. Overall, an enjoyable stay and would stay again. Thank you"
"This was a lovely wee family-run hotel that is extremely well located for the University of Aberdeen and some of the historic sites in that area. I rented the single bedroom with ensuite toilet and shower, which was very good for solo-traveller. The bed was nice and comfy and the room had a small table and plenty of storage for clothes. There was also a small ironing board and hair-dryer. The shower was nice and hot, with good strong water pressure, so ideal. The cooked breakfasts were delicious! Especially the cheese omelette. Steven the owner was super nice."
