While visiting the Kilauea Point lighthouse, the ocean was making a loud "boom" across the bay to the west. The waves were crashing against the cliff and repeatedly splashing 40 feet high from small ocean swells. This was the only location the splashes were occurring. At Kilauea Point, one can view the Lighthouse, hundreds of Albatrosses, and the Kauai bird Nene.

Service by staff was excellent! They care and it shows throughout from servers and housekeeping to the front desk. The view of Hanalei Bay from the oceanfront room was one of the best resort views I’ve seen. Our dining experience was mixed with good vibes to the Sandbox by the pool. Valet service and smiles get a big ‘mahalo’ from me.
