First off, what an absolutely beautiful place. Carrie thought of everything, and the cottage was literally perfect for us and the kids. The pool was outstanding, as were the tradewinds off the ocean. OH! And the stars at night…WOW.The grill…the pool…the fire pit…all amazing. Plus, she set us up with the most relaxing Thai massages and with a snorkeling charter where we swam with sea turtles and a monk seal. We are absolutely coming back again next year!

Great Location Great Property

Everything about the cottage is perfect, you won't even want to leave. The backyard is your private oasis and is perfect for kids. Everything was clean, well cared for, and a great host.

My husband and I visited in September for our anniversary. This is an absolutely stunning property with everything you need and more. The pool and hot tub are glorious and the tiki bar, outdoor shower, grill, and fire pit made you not want to leave the property! Great care has been taken to make sure guests are comfortable here. Please note that Maui county requires the property manager to be onsite, so you are on the hosts' property. While you have doors leading to your property, you are asked to not lock them meaning the owner can and will walk in at any time. We were a bit taken aback by this as it's not something we've ever experienced with hosts before (usually they will call and ask if they need to access your space while you are there). So, as a result, it never felt quite private to us, but the beauty and comfort of this property made up for it. We highly recommend!

If we could live here permanently...

Auntie Kali's cottage is magical. Plain and simple. I knew it would be special just looking at the pictures, but even those can't capture just how wonderful it is. It is a private oasis; we found it hard to leave and explore Maui on any given day! Of course the pool is incredible, and we enjoyed using the grill and fire pit to make s'mores. The home is so incredibly comfortable, with quite literally anything you could possibly need to make your stay perfect. We arrived to an abundance of fruit (some grown right on the property!), homemade banana bread, and such wonderful hospitality from Carrie, the owner. It is located close to beaches, shopping, and restaurants, but when you're behind those doors, it is as if you are far, far away in your own special resort that is 100% yours! There is no doubt...this place is very special.

Great Paradise Cottage

Love this cottage property, it’s your own private paradise with pool, hot tub, BBQ & Tiki Bar all to yourself. It’s even better in-person & perfect for a getaway, it’s close to beach, restaurants, sights & resorts. It has everything you need & then some, we highly recommend it. Carrie is a great Host and so responsive. We stay at Auntie Kali’s Cottage every time we get away to Maui! Thanks for another relaxing, fun stay in Maui!

Relaxing in Paradise

This was our 2nd time staying at the cottage. Again, everything was perfect and we totally relaxed. We visit Maui every couple of years and we hope to continue to stay here as it will be hard to stay anyplace else! Banana bread is an added bonus.

Another stay in paradise!

We have been lucky enough to stay at this wonderful property and it is always an amazing experience. Our family loves the private outdoor area and pool - it makes you feel like you have your own tropical oasis. The owner is kind, caring and responsive. She is always available and easy to contact, yet makes sure you have all the privacy you want during your stay. This property is a true gem!

Auntie Kali's Cottage is a gem rental on Maui. Located around Kihei, it is a perfect central location to explore the island, but far enough off the beaten track to provide the kind of privacy we preferred during our stay. Carrie was a wonderful host and made sure we lacked for nothing. She attended to any issue we had with speed and dedication. We knew we were in good care the whole time.The cottage itself, with its two quaint bedrooms and baths, was perfect for our needs. The beds were both spacious and comfortable. The kitchen provided all the modern convince anyone could want, plus a wide array of cookware to use.Grill Masters, be prepared for one of the best gas-grill experiences you can imagine.The real lure (and rightfully so) of the property is the private pool and bar area. The pool is a nice size for general swim, with a solid hot tub attached. The slanted, "beach entry," was very convenient. Behind the pool, the full-size bar had any tool you would need to create a mean cocktail.My favorite part of the stay was the outdoor shower. Provided with privacy and incredible vistas. I felt like I was in another world, perhaps Oz. I highly recommend anyone who wants a unique, private experience on Maui to consider Auntie Kali's Cottage. It is a first-rate experience for any traveler.

Paradise is real

this our second visit to Auntie Kali's Cottage. we enjoyed 2 weeks of quiet, with a private pool and beautiful ocean views. great amenities, comfortable beds, outdoor shower, and close to golf, shopping and dining. we missed visiting with you Carrie, but Jean and Dan took care of us in every way. this rental is the gem of Maui. we hope to be back again very soon.

Paradise @ Auntie Cali’s Cottage

Our stay @ Auntie Cali’s Cottage went beyond our expectations. This is a hidden gem in paradise! One of our best stays in Maui. Truly an awesome 30 year anniversary celebration! You have to visit yourself because words alone cannot express how much we loved this stay. Carrie is a wonderful host and easy to work with. Her brother Dan is very friendly and her mother makes an awesome banana bread. Most humbled and grateful for our stay. Thank you Carrie❣️

Aunt Kali’s Cottage

We booked this stay expecting a lot based on the previous reviews. Believe me when I tell you we got even more than we expected! This cottage and the surrounding pool area are perfection!! Carrie has absolutely everything you need to stay. She even has yoga mats and robes! Carrie and Danny were so accommodating and helpful! She even had fresh fruit from her yard waiting for us. Her home is located right by many shops,restaurants and beaches. It’s just a quick drive to everything. My family will absolutely stay here again if we get back to Maui!

Paradise was ours!

When I booked Aunty Kali's Cottage, I never imagined that paradise would be ours for a week. I'll tell you that the pictures really don't do it justice. The views of the ocean at sunset, the beautiful native plants and flowers, and even the wildlife (mongooses and all!). Having a pool and bar even made the cottage the Happy Hour spot for our family to come to before dinner. Aunty Kali was also amazing, greeting us with a warm smile and a delicious homemade banana bread. She was so attentive and hospitable and we will, without doubt, be returning time and time again.

The best

We've stayed at this property multiple times over multiple years. It is by far the best place to stay that we've experienced in decades of traveling to Maui. The host (Carrie) is pleasant and caring and really wants to make sure that you have a great time while you're on site and has become someone who we look forward to seeing every year. The house itself is a great size (not too big, not too small), but the real special part are the outside areas that allow for pure relaxation. You'll see amazing sunsets while relaxing alongside the pool. It's as good as it gets.

Beautiful oasis

This was our first visit to Hawaii, for my 50th and our son’s 16th birthdays, and it was exactly the special place we had in mind to celebrate those milestones. Carrie considered every detail - from welcome treats and delicious home-baked banana bread to beach gear to a fully-stocked kitchen to the gorgeous pool and gardens - we didn’t want or need for anything during our stay. It was very close to the resorts of Wailea, many beautiful beaches, shopping and restaurants. We were here during the devastating Maui wildfires and felt extremely fortunate to be staying in this peaceful oasis. We are praying for Maui’s recovery and hope to be lucky enough to return again. We would recommend this cottage to anyone visiting Maui.

Happiest place on earth

Move over Disneyland, we found THE most magical place on earth. We booked this cottage for our 30th Anniversary, looking for a private, relaxing getaway, and we were not disappointed! From the moment we stepped through the double doors to the PRIVATE pool/outdoor bar/outdoor barbecue and 2 separate outdoor showers, it was breathtakingly beautiful and by far exceeded our expectations! The cottage is beautiful, very clean (I didn’t see one bug in the house our entire stay) and very well stocked with everything you need to prepare your own meals. It definitely had the home away from home feel. The cottage may be in the back of the hosts home, however, they did a great job of separating the two so it is extremely private with your own entrance. We rarely saw the hosts (giving us our privacy) but they were available if we needed anything. Thank you Carrie and family for making our anniversary stay unforgettable. We couldn’t have found a more incredible place to stay!

The place was beautiful and so very relaxing!

This oasis was beautiful, but for the price.. it could have been better. The pool was dirty up until the pool guy got there halfway through our stay, this attracted more mosquitoes and bugs than it normally would. There were tiny beetles in the house itself, due to the live plants that are in the home. They have avoided cleaning out a kitchen cabinet that has old medicine and food in it. They keep alcohol in the outdoor bar that has been open and used. The pool shed is especially dirty with snorkel masks that have bugs all inside the breathing tubes. Although they don’t have bed bugs that I seen, they also didn’t have a bed bug cover to protect themselves from getting bed bugs. Although the place was private, it wasn’t really all that private as it was in their backyard. They no longer have a private chef that they are close to and can have come to you and as far as I could tell, a masseuse. You are however able to find one yourself and have them come to you. The people that own the property are really nice people, and greet you every time they see you. We did really like them, but nearly $1000 a night for 2 people? For that price alone, the place should be maintained a little better. You can find resorts cheaper than that with a lot better maintenance and better privacy. The place is private and gorgeous, with a decent view of Wailea and the ocean in the distance. We did enjoy our stay a lot, but if I could give advice, don’t go for a honeymoon.

Fantastic Place to experience Maui

Our family of 4 stayed for a week and a half and I can’t say enough good things about our time there. The property is so much better than the photos can convey, it really is a little piece of paradise. We enjoyed the privacy of having the pool and outdoor kitchen/bar, the view of the ocean and Molokini, and the house itself had everything we needed and more. Truly a special place! Highly recommend staying here!!
