Beautiful Oceanfront Corner Unit

#240 is one of the top 1 bedroom, end unit, rental condominiums at Sugar Beach Resort, which is one of the top resort designations on Maui. Consider staying with us for the following reasons:

1) Oceanfront property - Spectacular views down the southern beach coast, all the way to the pu'u (cinder cone) of Makena. And of course, mind blowing sunsets…

2) End unit - This is an end unit, which is larger than the majority of 1 bedrooms at Sugar Beach Resort. The side window in the living area provides a wonderful view down the shoreline as well as providing light and ventilation. The shower in an end unit also has light and ventilation. A subtle but VERY NICE addition. Also, an end unit does not have public walkway outside the bedroom window. This is very comforting.

3) New owners - Professionally remodeled and beautifully decorated in 2015. Elegantly and casually appointed, with local Hawaiin-inspired artwork and modern appliances and fixtures.

4) 2nd floor unit - Being on the second floor creates a connection to the beach and breaking waves, yet provides the security and privacy of being one floor up. The second floor, at the end, also allows for easy access to the beach or to your car in the parking lot.

5) Sugar Beach Resort - Sugar Beach Resort is on a 4.5 mile long beach where you can play in the water, sun on the beach, watch the whales and observe the local canoe club outrigger canoeing. This highly desired Resort features FREE Parking, FREE High speed internet, FREE Wi-Fi and an on-site place to book vacation activities. Also, right on the property is a local favorite for a sandwich or beer, Dina's Sandwitch (as they promote "Sheer Witchery Sandwitches‏").

POOL CLOSURE: The pool is closed annually for 2 weeks to perform maintenance. The start date for this project is always the second Monday in September. Inquire about special rates for this 2 week period.

Sugar Beach Condo

The location is amazing. Very comfortable place with all the amenities including AC and in apt laundry. The owners and agent are flexible and accommodating. The resort is decent, but the beach and views are spectacular!

My girlfriend and I stayed the week and the condo was great. Ive stayed at Sugar Beach Resort several times and this condo worked great. Close to everything in Kihei and love the view.

Great place to relax!

John’s place was wonderful! Beautiful balcony to sit and read, relax or enjoy a nice meal. In the evening we would listen to the waves from the living room. It was very relaxing!

Very comfortable apartment in a great location

Spacious and well-equipped condo, nicely furnished. The lanai with its view at the ocean is amazing. Nice location in more laid-back area of the island, great place to start your trips wherever on Maui. We enjoyed this place a lot and would be happy to come again.

Perfect Maui Condo!!

In the perfect location, with easy drives to everything Maui has to offer, this one bedroom condo just steps from a beautiful sandy beach is the perfect getaway. Beautiful balcony overlooks the ocean and the pool is a nice place to lay out and view the ocean. Highly recommend!!

The Perfect Spot

This property was the perfect spot for two to enjoy a vacation. The views were beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked with all you need. There were beach chairs and coolers available. The location was excellent for restaurants and all the sight seeing you want to do. The resort was a quiet place to stroll the beach, sit at the pool or enjoy the sunsets.

Lovely Condo on the Ocean

My husband and I stayed at Sugar Beach 240 Condo on the ocean and it was lovely! The communication with the host was easy, the vibes were good (friendly), and we could see whales from the patio! Thanks for the beautiful few days of relaxation.

I love the location in Kihei and the location on the property. The ocean waves so close were magical. Yes, it could be updated a bit. If so, eg, new sofa, nicer furniture on the lanai, nice sheets - that’s all, it could rent for more easily!

Right on the Money

John's place is amazing and 100% accurate to the description, pictures, and reviews. We were in heaven sitting on the balcony listening to the calming ocean waves, drinking coffee, and watching people mill about the beach. Location is absolutely fantastic and central to many things on West Maui. I will stay here again next time we are able to make it here.

Great Location

Love being right on the water and hearing the waves lightly crashing. We sat on our balcony & saw some Whales breaching. It was awesome. There is a cute little bar over by the office. Everyone is so friendly! Drinks & Food were great🌺

Stunning View

We came to Maui to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. John's condo was the perfect location, right on the beach with a breath-taking view of the waves rolling in. The condo is beautifully furnished and comfortable. John is very responsive to any questions or concerns.

Retirement Trip

Beach view from balcony was awesome. Hearing the waves in the condo was so relaxing. Dina's sandwiches shop food was great and not having to clean up to go out. Couple suggestions, 1. Replace the sofa 2. Fix the ice maker. 3. Replace the toster.Everything overall was excellent. We will stay here again next time.

Sunset views and ocean breezes

Very relaxing stay. Amazing view and very quiet condo. Great comfortable bed and everything you need. John was a great host, I had issue with wifi when I arrived and John called provider and walked me through resetting it. Worked the whole rest of my stay. Spent most of my time on the Lanai. Second floor condo and so close to the ocean you don’t even need to leave. Pool, hot tub and grills at the resort all work great and never real busy. Easy parking right in front of condo. I did not want to leave but back to reality. Can’t wait to return!

Sugar Beach

This condo is a perfect location, ocean front corner unit with spectacular views in all directions. It is steps to a long sandy beach great for walking. We enjoy the sunsets and watching people swim and snorkel right in front. Canoe clubs are close by and many canoes are out in the mornings. We have been coming to Sugar Beach since 1989 so our vacations have changed over the years. John was the perfect host who was very responsive to a couple of small issues encountered. The unit is tastefully decorated and we hope to rent this one again!

Overall Good

View was amazing. Property was clean but things to know. Needs to spray for bugs, enough said. Be prepared to stop at Walmart as bathroom supplies are minimal. Shower may or may not have a birds nest growing in window. Being kinda picky but this property could be top shelf with a little work. It is definitely a rental with rental type amenities. Area is good for a lot of shopping and dining. Very convenient to airport. Wish there was a 4.5 but didn’t feel like it completely justified a five star. A nice place to stay.

Very reasonable

The bed was amazingly comfortable. The rental very clean, the outside furniture was very basic, with the table rocking a bit. Needs to be clean from the wind dirt but noting really bad. A foot rest for the sofa would be nice and the bathroom shower in need of an update. One of the towels you could smell the bacteria. All of these minor things could be addressed so easily. I would still stay again and recommend this property to others. If you know what to expect then we won't be disappointed. The most important thing when renting is the cleanliness, and the bed and they were both great along with the gorgeous view.

Remarkable View

We were looking for something with direct ocean view and this unit did not disappoint. I could sit on the lanai and stare in awe for hours at a time. Very clean unit. We were well stocked will all the essentials from shampoos to dish soap to laundry detergent. The kitchen is well stocked as well. We got good use of the beach chairs and cooler. Bed is very comfortable and there were several pillows, extra blankets, several towels. If you come to Maui for the ocean view and sunsets, look no further - this is the place to stay at. The trade off is slight longer drives to all the great restaurants Maui has to offer. We prepared a few meals at the condo so it wasnt an issue. I'm sure the shower and toilet area are being considered for a future remodel as it's looking a little tired compared to the rest of the unit but still very functional- just a minor criticism in thinking about what could be better. John was also a great communicator and host. We were so appreciative that he opens up this unit to us as tourists. Mahalo John. Well be back without hesitation!

The most honest review for 3/2025 (the review I wish I had read)

THE GOOD-Firstly (and maybe most importantly), this owner and unit is an overall 4.7 experience(my opinion). Communications with John were a solid 5.0. When asked a question prior to or during the rental, the answers were immediate. Excellent owner.- Secondly, cleanliness of the unit upon arrival was a 5.0. - The view is a 4.7. The side window was useless to us because it is on the 2nd floor. We kept the shade closed the entire 11 days because the adjoining property can see into the condo. No biggie , but it would have been nice to have that shade open.- Sugar Beach location (for my wife and I who like to *relax* and separate from the humans) was a 4.8. There are always a few loud kids or cars that affect the resort experience, but Sugar Beach Resort is a nice location if you don't want a crowd. If you want to be able to walk to restaurants and shopping, this is not a good option. If you want quite, it's great.- Bed was SUPER comfortable. Only 5 pillows, but enough for us. - The lawn chairs, pool, public bathroom, lawn, landscaping, beachfront, stairs, elevators, were all in good condition.THE BAD in 2/25- The ice maker is inoperable.- TV speaker in living room was intermittently crackling- Condition of the overall Sugar Beach Resort is a 3.8. ------It's clean, but the overall condition of electrical, mechanical, structural, grills, is in need of attention (as of 2/25)Summation: I just booked another 2 weeks at SBR!!!
