This family-friendly resort town offers thousands of acres of skiable terrain, along with plenty of off-slope activities for visitors of all ages.

Known for its easygoing atmosphere and excellent family entertainment options, Keystone is one of Colorado’s most popular ski destinations. After exploring the resort’s diverse slopes, browse village shops, go skating or investigate the mountain’s massive snow fort.

Keystone’s ski area has 131 trails with a vertical drop of 3,128 feet (953 meters). Ski the trails spread across 3,148 acres (1,274 hectares) on three neighboring peaks: Dercum Mountain, North Peak and the Outback. Beginners will enjoy the wide variety of gentle slopes, while experienced skiers can test their skills on the Outback's steep bowls and trails used for national ski team training.

Find the resort’s River Run area around the base of the gondola of the same name. The heart of Keystone resort, this neighborhood is also the center of its après-ski scene. Explore River Run’s sophisticated shops and boutiques, selling everything from jewelry to designer ski wear. The Mountain House area is particularly popular with families, while Lakeside Village offers a laid-back ambiance and scenic waterfront views.

Ride the River Run Gondola to the top of Dercum Mountain to reach Adventure Point snow tubing park. Tube during the day or make an illuminated night run, using the park’s conveyor lift to get back up the hill. Tubing continues into summer.

Don’t miss the Keystone Kidtopia Snow Fort atop Dercum Mountain. Touted as the world’s largest snow fort, the site includes mazes, slides, towers and a snow throne.

For something different, try Decrum Mountain’s exhilarating snowcat tours. Heated vehicles bring participants along a scenic mountain trail, offering fantastic views of Ten Mile Range, Gore Range and the Continental Divide.

Rent skates for an afternoon on the Dercum Square Ice Rink. Spanning 7,200 square feet (670 square meters), the rink offers day and night skating with live DJs providing the soundtrack on weekend afternoons.

Keystone is 99 miles (159 kilometers) west of Denver International Airport. Use shuttle services from the airport or rent a car for the 2-hour drive.
