Come enjoy this rustic and cozy mountain retreat! Located in the Upper Board Ranch, wake up listening to the birds sing and Warm Springs Creek babble. It is amazingly QUIET here. Wildlife abounds. Winter is especially tranquil here.
Enjoy fishing, hiking, hunting and skiing on public land right out the back door. Take a trip to Frenchman’s Bend HotSprings just 3 miles up the road. Come home to stoke the fire and cook a nice meal. Read a book, play a game, watch a movie, enjoy the jacuzzi after a day of snow adventures, have a bonfire, just relax.
15 minutes to Warm Springs, 20 to Ketchum.
We offer a 10% discount for weekly rentals and a 25% discount for monthly rental. Come stay a while and unwind. If more space is needed, we also have a loft with two more twin beds which can be added onto your rental for an additional $100/ stay.

This cabin is a gem. Cozy, welcoming and surrounded by gorgeous pine, fir and spruce. Close enough to the river to enjoy its constant song and the nights skies are some of clearest you'll find.

Beautiful fully outfitted cabin

We had the best time at the cabin - a great jump off to alpine, Nordic, snowshoeing, hot springs and the rest Sun Valley has to offer. Thank you for hosting and offering as pet-friendly!

Beautiful, relaxing place to stay

This property was exactly what we needed. It was private, with some neighbors nearby, but no one within view. The creek sound is really nice. It stays really cool because the spot does not get a lot of sun, which is great for this time of year in the summer. It was very cozy. It had more amenities than anywhere I have stayed, as far as kitchen items, bathroom items, and whatever else you might need. I would stay again anytime.

Great little cabin nestled in the woods

My husband was a little hesitant after driving 6 miles on a dirt road into the woods, but that quickly disappeared after he saw how wonderful this little cabin and the quiet location was! So much better than staying in town. Our dog loved exploring in the woods and catching her ball in the front yard. Gabriela thought of everything - even a box fan for those of us who need noise to sleep! I highly recommend this cozy rustic cabin if you enjoy peace and quiet.

Couldn’t ask for more

Stayed for five nights with my dog and husband. Cozy, quiet and private. Property has “the best” of everything- plush towels, three options for making coffee, all the cooking supplies you could want, wood ready for the stove, and dog dishes!

Great, quiet cabin in the woods

I had stayed at this cabin before in winter and had a great time. It is even better in the summer! Great quiet location with nice outdoor spaces. I enjoyed listening to the creek. The cabin was perfect for me and my dog. Will rent again.

Wonderful Cabin!

We loved this cozy cabin in the woods, especially all the windows letting in the beautiful greenery from outside. Being so close to Frenchman’s hot springs was a bonus. There is a warm feeling about the Emerald Gem. Looking forward to returning!

Great location just 15 minutes out of Ketchum. House had all the comforts and beds very comfortable. Books, darts, games, pet bowls, outdoor seating and several firepits. Very relaxing which is exactly what we were looking for. Never found the land line phone but wifi worked great.

A retreat in the woods

The Emerald Gem is a sweet cottage in a quiet location. It is meticulously maintained and warmly appointed. It has great access to Warm Springs Creek for anyone interested in fishing. The owners are considerate and responsive. We hope to be back soon!

Best little cabin

Loved every minute of our stay. So many little touches added to the enjoyment. You feel like they have thought of everything from having the fireplaces ready to just light a match to fresh coffee beans ready to grind. Also, they had dog bowls, dog bed, and snacks that confirmed to us that our dog was very welcome there. Beautiful time of year to visit....great fall colors :) Thank you!

Wonderful weekend get away

We had such a great stay! The location is gorgeous. Perfect for those seeking some outdoor therapy! We enjoyed exploring the forest behind the cabin. And the stars at night were incredible! Just a short drive in to town where we enjoyed some good food. The fishing near by was also great! Our kids keep telling us they miss the cabin already! We hope to return soon. The hosts were great at communicating and provide everything you need for a great stay.

We had a wonderful time! The property was fun to explore. The cabin was a perfect size and we loved using the wood stove to warm up. They had a very well stocked kitchen. Usually there’s always something missing, like a can opener, but they had everything that you would need. You won’t regret renting this home.

Idyllic

Simply a perfect mountain retreat. Twenty minute drive out of Ketchum and you really get away from it all. The cabin is amazing and extremely well laid out. The beds are very comfortable—I slept incredibly well!! I especially enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, which is important when you’re up in in the mountains. The cabin was warm and cozy and that’s even before you light the wood stove. Truly a great great place and I’d happily stay again.

Peaceful Get Away

Amazing cabin tucked away in a beautiful canyon. Big trees surround the cabin so it has amazing shade, and keeps the cabin so cool. Its in a peaceful neighborhood and you can have the windows open and just hear the river running and the cool mountain air coming in. There are lots of hikes, fishing, places to eat, and beautiful scenery to explore. This is an amazing place to stay and you are close to a lot of different places. They have fun activities to do at the cabin as well they had 2 bikes and we enjoyed going on rides!

Perfect Secluded get away close to adventure

This place was fantastic. The perfect combination of rustic seclusion with nice creature comforts. All appliances, furniture, kitchen supplies, etc were all top notch. Service or having fires set and ready to go was great.Exceeded our expectations.One piece of advice for other travelers - you drive down about 3 miles of dirt road to reach cabin. It is well maintained but there are many potholes and therefore I would encourage you to arrive before dark. We arrived after dark on our first night and got surprised by a few of them!We saw a heard of Elk each day which was very cool. Again, highly recommend this property.

Perfect Winter Getaway

My husband, two dogs and I came to Ketchum for a 5 day (4 night) weekend to cross country ski. This cabin was the perfect base camp. It is quiet and peaceful, the surroundings are beautiful and the cabin was the perfect size for us. It has a rustic feel but has all the amenities and luxuries (hot shower, kitchen to cook dinner and a wonderfully comfortable bed) that you could want. I love that this is dog friendly - being able to bring our dogs enhanced our experience immensely. One of our favorite parts was making a fire every night and listening to the crackle as we unwound on the couch. Highly recommend this place and hope to come again!

a gem in the woods

spent 9 delightful nights in a rustic cabin. very comfortable, cozy and spacious for 2 people. was not lacking for anything. we would either bike or hike for several hours (not from there) and come back and hang out and relax. never went out for a meal as didn't feel like driving 18-20 minutes back to town. would definitely stay again. also, the owner's were quick to respond to any questions if I had any.
