"I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I think future guests should be aware of what to expect. This property was a big letdown. It’s clear that it hasn’t been maintained properly and was not very clean—several things were in disrepair, like huge gaps in the floor boards where we repeatedly stubbed our toes, stained carpet, disgusting shower curtains, several cockroaches, handle missing on the freezer door, landscaping overgrown, broken dock, no lights down to the dock (they were all broken or missing), granola bar rappers under the basement bedroom bed, and this is just a few items.What really stood out was how much it felt like someone’s personal home rather than a vacation rental. Closets were filled with the owner’s belongings, there were personal items in the bathroom, and the overall vibe was cluttered and uninviting. It didn’t feel like a place designed for guests at all. The worst part was the dirty towels left in the bathroom and dirty clothes in the hamper. On the upside, the location was convenient to stores and gas, and communication with the host was okay—but that doesn’t make up for the overall experience. With some serious cleaning and maintenance, this place could be great, but in its current state, I wouldn’t recommend it to others."
