"Was upgraded to a larger room for no special reason. Very nice proprietor. For budget priced accommodations, this is an excellent value. Would definitely stay here again if I am in the area."

"I stayed at Maple Terrace for five nights and brought my golden retriever with me. I worked remotely from the room most days, and it was an ideal setup—quiet, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped.
The property itself is beautiful, with a stunning view of the neighboring horse farm that feels straight out of a postcard. My room was spotless, cozy, and well-appointed: comfortable beds, easy-to-reach power outlets at both the desk and bedside, and small conveniences that show real attention to detail (shower cap, makeup remover, hair dryer, etc.). The welcome chocolates for humans and treats for dogs were such a sweet touch.
The owner is wonderful—warm, attentive, and always available to make sure guests have what they need.
My dog absolutely loved it. While she desperately wanted to chase horses and explore the (equally gorgeous) cemetery—no, sweet girl, not allowed—we found an amazing 1/2-mile trail along the Green River that leads straight to Water Street with easy access to campus and Spring Street. It was perfect for morning walks.
This will be my go-to place whenever I visit Williamstown.

"Well maintained, rooms very clean and appropriately updated. For a basic travel motel, everything was very nice. Rooms were basic, but well maintained. Not only very clean, but also updated in maintenance so it felt good (like newer carpet, and tiled clean shower surround). I would stay again without hesitation. "
"The room was spotless. The Staff was helpful and responsive, from recommending local restaurants to bringing extra towels. Mgt makes it clear that they truly respect your privacy and will only enter room upon request.
Second time we have stayed here and it was even more pleasant than last time. You feel that this is a real family operation. "
"The house is a beautiful New England structure with a variety of rooms to choose from. Our room, the Gold room was luxurious and spacious with great light during the day. The "private bath" is across the hall requiring proper dress to exit the room and enter the bathroom. It's a small point but different nonetheless than in in-room bath.
The heating function was a bit tricky since it is an older hot water heat register that takes some time to heat up or down so you need to be mindful of time needed to adjust the room heat.
A couple of notes for the management (I was in the hotel business for 20 years) relate to the living room/parlor furnishings. There is an enormouse floral arrangement in the center of the room between the seating arrangements that obstructs the view of the front window. I would suggest moving it to a corner of the room to allow other guests to enjoy the view to the outside and adding a second table and chairs to take advantage of the room and view. Other guests are required to sit in the restaurant away from the living room area and it felt isolated.
Staff is casually under dressed for the surroundings of the inn. I would spruce them up a bit. The receptionist did not provide a greeting when we arrived and it felt we weren't welcomed adequately.
Overall, however, it's a beautiful place to stay and just needs a little more attention to the guest experience. I'm happy to talk with anyone should they desire."
