Westmorland Hotel Tebay

Westmorland Hotel Tebay

8/10 Good
"A solid stay at this lovely hotel, which was our halfway point home after a trip to Scotland. The food quality was really good, very enjoyable, and the room was great - the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, it was so comfortable. The only reason I haven't given it five stars is that there was room for improvement, although it was a very healthy standard and we would stay again. Our reception welcome couldn't be faulted, the staff were great. However, we waited in the lounge for our dining spot, and although there were staff seemingly not over-busy, there were plates left from other guests untouched in this area which meant it wasn't that pleasant a spot to wait. Communication at breakfast could have been better, although the breakfast was good, and we only had to ask really, but would have liked to have been told if we could have yoghurt/fruit etc from the table. The food, both at evening and breakfast sittings, was very good and worth the price, but the drinks were eyewateringly pricey! Don't let this put you off, it's a lovely place to stay and we enjoyed it. Under the management of the group managing the lovely services, we know they'll sort these very minor issues out as it was clear from the management and systems in place that they are aiming for excellence. We have every confidence they'll achieve it."

"We had a lovely stay at the Fox Hall Inn. Great food lovely staff and a peaceful setting. We stayed for three nights and our room overlooked the countryside and good spacious carpark. The hotel has been decorated so beautifully, and the new owners have done an amazing job creating such a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were lovely, comfortable and beautifully presented, and the surrounding area was absolutely beautiful too. "The Black lion is a lovely pub in the heart of Richmond. Our stay was only for one night, but we had a great time. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was big, with plenty of space to get changed, a nice shower and a comfy bed. The bar was lively and drinks were reasonably priced. The cocktails are excellent and 2 for £12 we didn't eat at the pub, but the food looked nice. Richmond in north Yorkshire is worth visiting for sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again."

"Picture postcard hotel. We had a garden room which was tastefully decorated and being able to sit in our own conservatory was great but the hotel had a bar and snug which were also lovely spaces. Beautiful garden with stunning views over to Hawes and it was just so peaceful to sit out there. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast and we also had dinner in the hotel and this was beautifully presented and delicious."
