"The woman at reception was lovely, very nice. The room itself was very clean, the bathroom was spotless. The decor almost made us throw up however. I know they are themed rooms, but classy would have been much nicer than cheap and cheesy. We got the "Hilde" room, based on a movie with Heike Makatsch. The carpets were shag and hot pink (and old and worn) and the headboard was a bunch of fake plastic hot pink flowers"

"Fabulous staff, comfortable beds, clean and quiet. Tram stop is right outside the hotel for a quick 10 minute ride to old town where all the Christmas markets are. Wonderful breakfast buffet and convenient luggage storage if needed. Would definitely stay here again! "

"I had an excellent stay at Hôtel Esplanade the first week of December for the Christmas Markets. The hotel was very conveniently located near a tram stop so that it was fast and easy to get down to the city center. More than that, it was a warm and quiet refuge to recover for the evening and at the end of the night. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There were two bars, two coffee shops, and a convenience store all within short walking distance. Would highly recommend!"
