Boathouse Cottage on the water, access to snowmobile trails and ice fishing.

Outdoor nature enthusiasts rejoice! Not only waterfront views, but right on the water! Cozy 3 bedroom all season cottage on beautiful, pristine Emsdale Lake near Kearney Ontario. In winter there is direct access to main snowmobile trails (and covered storage for your machines and plenty of space for trailers) ice fishing steps from your door, cross-country ski or hike around the lake or on trails, minutes drive to Algonquin Park. In summer, swim in the crystal clear waters, sun yourself on the swim raft, kids can play on the sandy beach and shallow waters, kayak or canoe, fish, hike the beautiful trails and watch for wildlife! Surround yourselves with the beauty of nature, with not another cottage in sight, yet close to civilization with Huntsville and it’s quaint small town Muskoka shops and restaurants only 25 minutes away. Cozy up by the fire with a good book, go snowshoeing, or toast your marshmallows and hotdogs by a roaring campfire under the stars. The cottage is small but well equipped and tastefully decorated, with a large kitchen, wood stove, comfortable living area, three bedrooms (plus a cute bunkie with double bed for summer use) and one three piece bathroom. Complete privacy on a 1.25 acre peninsula lot.
Your friendly hosts, Dan and Tracy, fell in love with the area and moved up from the hustle and bustle of city life years ago. We live a few cottages away and are here for helpful advice, recommendations, or if any issues arise. Come and enjoy our little slice of paradise!

Relaxing time at the Boathouse
Enjoyed our second stay at the Boathouse. It is such a cozy cottage with fantastic surround view of the lake which is especially beautiful this time of year. We spent our time hiking and just relaxing on the lovely little beach at the cottage. Hope to return again.

Great Late Summer Cottage Getaway
This cottage was super peaceful during the week, we enjoyed everything about it with nothing missing. Last day woke up to thick fog that burned off to reveal the most spectacular fall morning-crisp and clear, nice and warm-wanted to stay on! But alas, back to work we go. Thanks for a nice family retreat!

Beautiful place
This place is truly beautiful. A fantastic setting. The boathouse has beautiful views at all angles and was very quiet and peaceful. Easy to access and very well equipped. The host was extremely helpful, friendly and quick to communicate. The little sandy beach area right next to the house was great for the kids, with an area of shallow water that they loved playing in. I would highly recommend this place, we will be going back!

The Great Escape
We had a lovely weekend at the Boathouse and look forward to a repeat visit in the future. Gorgeous scenery, especially when blanketed in snow. Spent time snowshoeing on the lake and cross country skiing in Algonquin park.

Wonderful winter stay
A cozy cabin with great views of the lake. The whole family had a lovely time. We spent the days skiing and skating in Arrowhead Park, and it was a joy to come back to our cabin and watch the sun set behind the trees.

Sailing on the boathouse
A family week-end at the lake is always a nice experience to live. But when you enter a cottage and find yourself welcomed by a quiet music, a cosy warmth, and a 180° view on a beautiful winter lake, magic happens! Thank you for providing such a wonderful place. Thanks also for the tasty sweets and home-made jam. Looking forward to our next stay!
