Maluhia Hale - 3BR Private Home Near Hilo

  • Before you head out to explore Hawaii Island, take a moment to slow down and embrace the peaceful rhythm of Maluhia Hale—a private home surrounded by lush tropical landscaping on its own one-acre property. True to its name, maluhia means "peace," and you'll feel it from the moment you arrive. Wander the grounds, pick seasonal fruit from the avocado and citrus trees, and enjoy the simple pleasure of connecting with the ʻāina (land).

Maluhia Hale comfortably accommodates up to six guests, making it an ideal getaway for families or friends traveling together. The airy primary suite is located upstairs and features a king bed along with private access to the wraparound lanai. Downstairs, two additional guest bedrooms each offer their own ensuite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, sink, and toilet providing comfort and privacy for everyone in your group.

Inside, you'll find everything you need to settle in and feel at home, including a functional, small kitchen, indoor dining for six, Smart TV (streaming services only), high-speed wireless internet, and a full-size washer and dryer. Outside, the expansive wraparound lanai invites you to embrace Hawai'i's indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Sip your morning coffee as the trade winds drift through the trees, gather for meals with family and friends, or simply relax and listen to the sounds of nature while enjoying the island's gentle ocean breezes.

Conveniently located in Hawaiian Paradise Park between the charming towns of Kea'au and Pahoa, and just a 20-minute drive from Hilo, Maluhia Hale is the perfect home base for exploring the Big Island's lush east side. Spend your days discovering black sand beaches, waterfalls, farmers markets, scenic coastlines, and Volcanoes National Park before returning to your own peaceful island retreat.

The Peaceful House!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We LOVED staying at this quiet, extremely private home! It's at the end of a cul de sac on a large property with a huge, beautifully landscaped yard and tall plantings all around. The upstairs was warm when we first arrived, but we opened up the many sliding doors and it cooled off right away. You can even see the ocean from the lanai! The house is large, comfy, and super affordable. Would stay again.

Peaceful Hawaii Country Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 6 loved our stay at Maluhia Hale. The house has a really nice layout with two large bedroom/bathroom suites on the entry level then the third bedroom, kitchen and living room are upstairs. The upstairs has a big, open feel and when you open up all the sliders there's a lovely breeze. The upstairs wrap around lanai is SO nice! You feel like you're sitting in the treetops with birdsong all around. If you're looking for a big house with a comfortable vibe that is not "too precious", this is a great choice!
