"This place is great. Not for it's facilities, but for the honesty, kindness and professionalism of it owner Anska. The bungalow rooms are very simple, with a/cand shower, clean an comfortable and cooectly priced. There is very good food served for breakfast and evening meals if you want them. Anska will take you in his jeep or tuc-tuc to any of the marvelous sites in the area and also do jeep safaris into the local parks to see elephants and other fauna. All at reasonable prices. "Firstly the owner couldn't find our booking. This would be fine, but he was just unhelpful in resolving this, and came across as rude and indifferent. He kept just saying "I haven't got any money from you" or "you should call the company you booked through" (like no you should). We kept asking for the Wi-Fi so we could try to resolve this and he just stood there, then took ages to get it. Once on Wi-Fi we got in touch with hotels.com who instantly resolved the issue by calling him, then the...

"Location is good. Lots of ants and insects in the room. Host was welcoming. But be aware of food cost. Ask price before ordering. We order seafood dinner for three. He made combination of fish, calamari, tiny crabs and few shrimp and charged 50 dollars(water for drink). We paid as we did not ask before eating. Then he came back and ask 800 rupees for driver’s break fast. We paid. A minute later he came for driver’s accommodation cost. At that point we said, NO. We stayed 2 weeks in Sri Lanka....

"Offers a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Located outside of town (will need to take a Tuk Tuk) but a great location for peace and quiet. Breakfast is very good/filling and dinner offers a nice selection of food which was very good. Highly recommend."

"Poor location. Manager speaks no English. The rooms he gave us were not ready -- no electricity. Contrary to the ads, there is no wifi or breakfast. The good news is that the owner agreed to drop one night of our reservation as well as reducing the price"

"My friend and I stayed here for 1 night at the beginning of our 6 day tour of Sri Lanka. This place is beautiful, peaceful and quiet and I wished we had stayed longer. The rooms are elevated and there is a walkway to them . My room are spacious, clean, with a seated area and I had a wrap around view of the forest. We ate at the restaurant and the food was amazing. My food allergies was catered for, which sometimes can be a problem. The ambiance of this hotel is lovely and the staff are excellent, nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to the chef that made my meals, this was my first taste of Sri Lankan food. This hotel is going to become popular and I am glad that we visited before that happen. I would definitely stay here again"

The rooms were cosy, and the food was absolutely amazing- one of the main reasons we chose this place, and it truly lived up to our expectations. Just a small heads-up: the rooms didn’t come with toiletries, so make sure to bring your own. Would definitely recommend! So glad we stayed here. "

"Fantastic location which is quite and peaceful location with wonderful mature trees. The service provided by Achini at the front office is well and beyond what was expected. She is a true asset to this hotel. If you want to see the elephants, this is a wonderful base for your safari."
