This place is cheap for a reason. But it was probably even overpriced for what it was considering there are cheaper places around that would be just as good/bad. There were bugs crawling all over the place, roaches, spiders, ants, and mosquitoes. There were roaches crawling all over the bed all night. The guy at the counter barely spoke English and didn't seem to understand the online booking. Asked me if i wanted a single room even though I clearly booked a king room. The booking included breakfast but the next morning they said no breakfast included. They didn't seem to actually wash the bathroom as much as just hose it out, and it never dried out. The toilet had no seat and there was no mirror in the bathroom. The sink was completely blocked. When the guy came to fix it, I mentioned the missing toilet seat and he just laughed. There was also a loud intermittent vibration in the building like drilling that shook the bed all day and night. Seriously for the same rate or even only a couple bucks more there are much better options out there.
There were insects all over, no toilet seat, paid for 2 people with breakfast but refused to give second breakfast without payment. Only one towel provided.
Manager kept forcing me to pay for my one week stay even after showing proof of full payment to Expedia. Manager unable to communicate in English, Hindi or other Indian languages.
Breakfast very poor quality butter and jam not enough for a single slice of bread. Customer service is nonexistent. Situation reached a point where Tourists Police intervention would have been more appropriate.
It ia a new hostel, each room is in ok size, but toilet is too small with shower. No hot water at nigh...maybe take long time to heat up...but in good location, center of Thamel. staffs are nice and helpful. Thank you
The room was not big, but comfortable. The king bed in the room was spacios.
The hotel is located at a very busy street. It was quite noisy in the room.
The restaurant at the roof of the building seems not functioning. I went there twice (one have to climb to the fifth floor) and found nothing there. It's confusing they put a menu in the room. I tried to order something from the menu ( spagghetti, not anything complicated) and I was told this dish is not served at the moment. I asked the waiter if it would be possible to order it later for dinner. The answer was negative. I went to the restsurant 2nd time to have a breakfast at 7:30 am. I found no one fromthere. Tye restaurant was empty from tourists, staff and food.
The TV ser in the room was unusable. There was some problem with the remote control. I asked to fix it. Someone from the staff got into my room and somehow succeeded to turn the tv set on. When he left the remote control was still malfunctioning. I had to disconnect tv fron the power socket in order to turn it off.
This hotel is excellent all around. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean w/ cable and nice bathrooms (compared to many other places I stayed in Nepal). Considering that this hotel is located on a very busy street and I was a bit worried about noise, it surprisingly quiet and I slept very well. The staff is very attentive and will ensure that you are happy at all times. Kareeba, at the front desk will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome - but each and every staff member will go above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable and enjoy your stay. The rooftop restaurant/bar is very good and I enjoyed my meals there very much. A very relaxing place to sit and read or just have a drink while watching the hustle and bustle below. Delicious Dal Bhat and curry. Also, they will organize you any tour/trek that you are interested in for a reasonable price and will tailor the trip to your liking. I booked a day trip to visit around Kathmandu and it made it so easy to see everything I wanted to see on my own schedule. I also organized a 10 day trek through them which was wonderful. Upon ending my trek, I stayed with them again. This hotel can organize your entire trip from beginning to end and ensure that it is easy, seamless, enjoyable and safe (I traveled as a solo female). I highly recommend this hotel (and the sister hotel in Pokhara). They also own an amazing restaurant a block from the hotel called Rosemary's Kitchen and it is ranked one of the best i
