About this property

Kaze Box/Seto Inland Sea/Families/Long stay/Kurashiki/Onomichi/Okayama

  • Every time I visit my hometown, I rediscover the charm of the Seto Inland Sea region. I created this house, “Kaze Box,” because I want to share these beautiful places with tourists from all over the world! It’s located on the border between Okayama and Hiroshima Prefectures, offering excellent access to famous tourist destinations such as Kurashiki, the Shimanami Cycling Route, and Naoshima Art Island, among others. If you’re a big fan of Fujii Kaze, you can drive to the café in his childhood home in just 5 minutes!

It is an old, traditional Japanese-style two-story house. The ground floor features a kitchen-dining room and a living room, while the second floor has two Japanese-style rooms.

There is one toilet (with a bidet) and one bathroom (with a bathtub and shower) on the ground floor.

There is a washing machine (6 kg) and a dryer (7 kg). Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, towels, and laundry detergent are also provided.

The kitchen is equipped with basic condiments such as salt and oil, as well as utensils, dishes, and glasses.
There are two induction cooktops, a refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, a toaster, and an electric kettle.
So enjoy cooking and dining here!

The living room on the ground floor has a TV and sofa where you can enjoy online content. You can also lay out two futons and sleep here. It has air conditioning.

If you climb the slightly steep stairs, there are two Japanese-style tatami rooms on the second floor. You can separate the rooms with a sliding door, or leave it open to enjoy chatting with family and friends until just before bedtime.

Each room has two single mattresses and one double bed. The second floor can accommodate up to 4 people.

It also features a desk, chair, and Wi-Fi, making it perfect for remote work. There is one air conditioner on the second floor.

Each room also has a clothes rack and a closet.

A 20-minute walk from JR Kasaka Station. A few minutes by taxi (900 yen)

A 1-hour drive from Okayama Airport or Hiroshima Airport. Renting a car there is recommended. You can also rent a car at major JR stations (such as Okayama Station) and near my place.

It’s about a 5- to 10-minute drive to the neighbouring town of Satosho, the hometown of the famous musician Fujii Kaze. A taxi can take you on a tour to visit places associated with Fujii Kaze.

There is a ferry terminal for the Kasaka Islands just a 5-minute walk away. You can enjoy a day trip to these nostalgic, rural islands!

Kurashiki is 25 minutes away by train. Onomichi, the starting point of the Shimanami Kaido, is about 40 minutes by train.
