Not as quiet as expected
Condo is just as advertised. The living room faces the ocean & has a beautiful view. The bedroom, however, faces the highway and is quite noisy. Impossible to sleep during morning traffic. These improvements should be made:1) Windows in living room and bedroom are single paned slat style windows that don’t close completely. The first night it was really windy and the wind whistled through the living room windows so loudly that’s all we could hear. Traffic noise wouldn’t be as bad if bedroom windows closed 2) Bathroom fan sounds like a garbage disposal. Blades must be hitting blades?? We didn’t use it much for fear it would start on fire or just fall apart 3) Dishwasher is not anchored down & flops around when opened. When full, both top & bottom racks fly out when opened. Not safe! That’s probably what broke the counter top edge above the dishwasher. Pieces of the edge are taped on with clear tape that is dirty & peeling off. Saw this in a December 2023 review and 2 months later is still not repaired. How does housekeeping not see these issues & report them to maintenance? Other things in the unit that could be updated: All coffee mugs have chipped rims. Shower curtain rod is rusted, towel racks & toilet paper holder are corroded, toilet seat is yellowed, all screws on outlets & light switches are rusted, door hinges are rusted. This makes the condo look old & dirty even though it’s clean. Inexpensive to replace & makes a big difference. Nice condo but needs love & attention.

We thank you for your detailed review and appreciate your feedback. We are getting the kitchen counter top replaced and the entry door. Because this condo sits with ocean facing breeze that some items you mentioned are a challenge. The bathroom vent is being replaced and not a easy task with high occupancy so the long stay guest in house is allowing us the time to get it done. Great location!
Loacation was great view was 2/3 great and 1/3 hiway. JESSE, the property manager was great and a wealth of information including the derelict Coco Palms across the street. The unit was OK. Kitchen was marginal, in need of a remodel. The counter top was cracked and repaired with tape the toaster would not work, the top of the fridge was filthy and rusted. Pool isn't heated..too cold for grandkids. All things considered we would stay there again but in a different unit away from the road. All things considered we enjoyed the

Very Clean!
This was a nice place to stay with great views of the ocean! It was spotlessly clean even though it is an older condo. There is a fabulous bakery across the street with amazing malasadas. My only complaint, if I had one, is the traffic noise in the morning since it is right off the main road. We ran the fan all night for white noise.

Amazing Stay
Amazing view from the balcony where we enjoyed our meals, watching the sunrise and taking in the scenery. The unit was centrally located, comfortable and met our needs. Management was responsive. Shopping and restaurants at Coconut Marketplace, beachfront food and drinks at Lava Lava and great baked goods at Passion Bakery all within easy walking distance. Look forward to returning someday!

Just okay
This property was fine. Definitely much older than the pictures suggest. But we were fine with that. Honestly the only deal breaker for us was we assumed since it was right on the water we would have a good ocean breeze and for some reason, with the way it’s situated, you can feel any breeze at all!! Like even on the balcony the air is stagnant. The temperature inside was stifling and made sitting in the living room miserable even with fans. The bedroom has an ac unit for sleeping which saved us. I honestly wouldn’t have made it without that. This property was fine but I wouldn’t stay there again. I understand not all condos have AC on the island and that’s fine, but this property is just too hot to be comfortable. Otherwise……it was okay.

The best backyard you'll ever have!
We stayed at Wailua Bay Condos for 10 days to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was a fabulous vacation with more things to do than there were days to do them in. The condo is on the 3rd floor, and from your private balcony you have an amazing view of the ocean that never gets old. The check in and out process is super easy as the unit has a keyless entry. The washer/dryer unit in the condo made keeping our laundry done super convenient. There are plenty of extra towels, including beach towels to use during your stay. The two beach chairs and umbrella were so handy as we spent every afternoon on the beach. All in all, even though we didn't spend much time inside, the condo met all of our needs and was a nice place to stay.

Great view.
Overall a nice place. Calm and a private balcony view. Pool was also calm during our stay. AC was a small floor unit, so a little louder than wall units ones. Small commercial area at 2-3 minutes walk, but overall quiet area. The beach near our wailua bat view was a little windy and with lots of waves, so it was beautiful but not the best one to enjoy beach sport/activities/swimming and snorkeling.

Wonderful stay!
View is absolutely beautiful and even better in person. Had all the accommodations we needed for our stay (beach chairs, kitchen needs, laundry, etc). The air conditioning worked great in the bedroom. Definitely would stay here again!

Condo with great views.
The washroom could have been cleaned better. Hair around toilet seat and in shower. The appliances should be updated. Great location with beautiful views as well as close to amenities. Also the extras were a step above. Eg. snorkels and beach equipment. Great having AC for the bedroom. Would recommend to a friend.

Wow what a view

Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We had the opportunity to stay here in December, and it was just what we needed. The location is excellent, as it is relatively centrally located to a variety of areas. The sunrises were a beautiful way to start each day. The condo itself is well-furnished. This was a great experience for us.

AMAZING VIEW!
We spent 2 weeks in room #313 over looking the ocean. It has a spectacular view! We’ve spent many weeks here in the past years, but have never felt so welcomed. We walked into our condo with Hawaiian music playing on the tv and Hawaii treats awaiting us on the table. We felt very special - Thank you! Best place ever!
This is the best Place on Hawaii we have ever stayed! There is no place in this unit that you can’t hear the ocean, and from the living room and kitchen the view is magnificent! Air conditioning in the bedroom made the hot Hawaiian nights very good for sleeping, and warm trade winds were such a pleasure out on the lanai. Fully equipped kitchen was great for cooking the morning breakfast. Management was super friendly and helpful about Island knowledge! Super convenient location for island exploring! Would definitely stay here again next time we visit Kauai!

Lovely condo and beautiful view
Only suggestions for improvement would be pretty minor. The view was fantastic, the complex felt very safe, and the space was well cleaned. But air conditioning for the living room/ kitchen would help the stay be immensely more comfortable, we would not have survived without the fans constantly going and the air conditioning in the bedroom. Maybe some complimentary kitchen supplies such as sugar for tea/coffee, main condiments in fridge etc Couldn’t find a baking tray when we went to reheat some pizza. That’s an easy fix Overall very lovely place and good location

Believe the reviews you read!
Thought this property was too good to be true! Was a beautiful location with wonderful views. However, the property is dated. There is no air conditioning outside of the bedroom and even with the windows and screen panels open it didn’t generate much air flow throughout the unit. We hardly saw anyone who worked at the property, we had to fill out our own parking permit with little information about how to do so. I would have liked a binder or folder with move out instructions and things to do in the area but it worked well enough for our trip.

The view was spectacular, the location was perfect, it was upkept, clean, and nice. The in house washer and dryer were essential. Check in was contactless and the host let us stay a little past check out time because our flight out left late. It was ideal for our honeymoon!

Wailua Bay. Needs some TLC
The location is great but the unit is not up to the standard that we had hoped. The property manager was awesome in addressing our concerns and her husband even came to fix some issues so that we could avoid an accident. They have been in contact with the owners to address the issues. Kauai was still a great place to visit and we enjoyed our stay on the island regardless of the problems at the condo.

wailua bay condo with a great view
Located in Wailua this condo was centrally located for exploring the island in any direction. The building Wailua Bayview condos was well maintained with a very nice pool area and a resident manager who was friendly and helpful. The condo itself fell short of our expectations in regards to condition and cleanliness. The lanai did afford a spectacular view as advertised but the overall condition of the unit was disappointing. The screen doors leading out to the lanai both were very difficult to open(needed new wheels) making lots of noise. Some of the louvered windows weren't able to be opened due to inoperable levers. The drapes in both the living room and the bedroom were threadbare in spots(which I originally thought was mold), but they were actually holes. We had an issue with the sharp carpet tack strip going into the bathroom being exposed. Had to lay a folded handtowel over it to keep from stepping on it. This unit definitely needs updating! On the positive side the king bed in the bedroom was very comfortable and the view was spectacular. With a minimal amount of updating this review could easily have been a five star.

The location was great! Very convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. I like that they provided beach towels, chairs, cooler, and even had several ice trays so I could make ice and not have to pay for it. The condo was clean and well stocked. There were a couple things that could be updated ( carpet was dated) . The manager was great with communications, as well as the property manager. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

We had a wonderful time in Hawaii. The rental was just like the pictures. It needs some updated but well worth the price. The celling fan in the unit helped to keep it cool. We would definitely go back.

Great location
Condo was just what we needed. AC unit in the bedroom was a lifesaver. View from the balcony was beautiful. The condo itself could use a touch up (needs new carpet, windows and kitchen update) but everything functioned just fine for our 8 day stay. Great location a few miles from Kapa’a.

We truly enjoyed our stay. It's quite central to the Island and it's activities. (sleeping Giant trail is about 5 minutes, well worth the experience) Waking up to the sound of the ocean is an amazing experience, we loved it. The sunrise was quite stunning from this side of the island... the price is right. If the owner updates a few things here an there, you might find yourself paying a lot more for the same place. Manager of building gives you full details on what to do and not do, after all it is a condo with other guests. Most rules are obvious for most people, but I guess some would need reminders. As for the bedroom, we ended up sleeping on the couch, mostly because we love the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks... being on the top floor and getting the views of the beach. One thing to note is that from the condo itself, there is no direct access to the beach, you have to walk around to either the next beach access point on either side which is about 3 to 5 minute walk, but nice beach on either point. We saw turtles on the waters... so nothing at all to complain about. thank you Cindy!

The price was right
We love Wailua Bay View. The view is EVERYTHING! Unit 313 could definitely use some TLC, but we were happy to find it because it was priced accordingly. Management (Premier Kauai Vacation Rentals) gets 5 stars. Cindy was super responsive to anything that came up during our stay!

Ok but not again
The place does have a great view of the ocean but the waves are so loud you couldn’t hear anything unless you closed the doors to lanai and the bedroom towards the front of the unit was loud from the street. Awoken every night from something out there. Overall we felt the place to be very outdated and need of many repairs and felt the place to be a little dirty. We did not feel entirely “clean” inside the place. Don’t sit on the old couch or you’ll sink in so far someone will have to pull you out of it. There is only AC in the bedroom and the rest of the unit is extremely hot and muggy. The grounds were nice and kept up very well although the manager is a little over the top with the rules etc.

We appreciate you taking time to review our property. I do believe a previous review was filled out by you as well that did not share the same details as this review. The sound of the waves are what many visitors come to hear so I apologize if that was too noisy for you. The comfy couch that you sink it to relax is also something our guest enjoy while looking at the ocean. We only advertise an AC in the bedroom so sorry that you missed that when you made your reservation. We agree with you that the unit is outdated and we are working with the owners to address some of the concerns thus the reason for the affordable nightly rate. The property manager Mark on site does a great job maintaining property and making sure everyone is following the house rules so it can remain beautiful. Again, thank you and hope did enjoy the Garden Island of Kauai.

Exactly what we needed.
This place was great. The view from the lanai is incredible, better than any picture can show. The condo has everything you need to fully function for your stay. I will say this, if you are a condo snob that expects luxury, this condo isn’t for you. This condo is a solid, clean, quiet, private place that has everything you will need, but it is not super fancy. The only downside that we notices was that a couple Of the windows didn’t seem to be working correctly. It wasn’t a big deal by any means but was strange. The washer and dryer in the unit was a life saver and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook as we wanted. Having AC in the bedroom was awesome!!! Some nights were a little hot and hard to sleep but the AC made that much better. Overall I think the condo was exactly what we needed, wanted, and expected for the price we payed.

Met all Expectations
This 3rd floor unit has great views of Wailua Bay and it is well stocked with appliances, dishes and utensils. The bed is comfortable but should be noted that this unit has not upgraded to the newer windows which would block out the busy street noise. There are lots of beach toys, snorkeling gear and cooler for days on the beach. There are no supplied beach chairs in case you require to sit on beach. The lanai has a table and four chairs. Living room equipped with a large surround and comfortable sofa for watching movies on flat screen TV. Basically this unit has everything you need for a short or long vacation.
