"I enjoyed my stay overall, but I was very disappointed with the hotel room service. I stayed for four days, and the housekeeping staff never cleaned our room. I had to ask for clean towels, toilet paper, and for the trash to be emptied. The staff member’s response was to ask me to bring my used towels to the dirty towel bin she had outside in the hallway. She also gave me trash bags and asked if I could bring my own trash to her. It was very disappointing to receive that kind of service from the housekeeping staff. However, I have no complaints about the reception and restaurant staff. They were extremely helpful, kind, and welcoming, and they made my stay much more enjoyable."

"Small pools and one was closed. But who needs pools when you have the ocean right there with a natural pools. Everyone was friendly and my stay was awesome. The only issue I have was very early in the morning. They were burning something on site and so it smelled like a campfire in my room which is not necessarily a pleasant smell to wake up to. That would be my main and only complaint."

Fern Grotto Inn

"Fern Grotto Inn (Coco D) was beautiful & comfortably furnished. Nice floral surprises everywhere with some yummy snacks, water & beer in the frig. Plenty of kitchen wares. There was Illy Coffee too. Our queen bed was very comfortable, although a bit high (I'm 5'6"). We were on the second floor (no elevator), which made for some nice views of the river from the kitchen/dining area. The grounds are absolutely stunning with beautiful plants & flowers everywhere. The Inn is located between Kapa'a & Lihue. Lots of things to do, restaurants & shopping nearby. You can go kayaking from the property to Fern Grotto, visit Smith's Garden & Luau (pricey, but includes a great meal & show). Need to book in advance. It's a very short drive from the Inn. Definitely do the doors off 1 hour helicopter tour of Kauai with Ali'i (expensive, but SO worth it!) from Lihue. Also, go to Allerton Garden & Estate (south) & Kilauea NWR (north). Too many things to do & so little time! We were there 4 nights. There is some road noise, even with the windows closed & there are roosters that like to crow at various times of the day or night, but there is Alexa that you can play music or white noise to offset any sounds. Paul was out of state, but we got to meet Rick. Great guy! Thanks Rick! Definitely a must stay!"

Summer Deal Oceanfront Kauai Condo with Heated Pool Beach Access

"The condo is so well cared for, clean, and inviting. We saw 2 small insects inside the whole week, and the hosts left excellent instructions for dealing with and preventing them. The hosts have gone out if their way to create a welcoming atmosphere for their guests to enjoy. The grounds are beautiful and very well cared for. It is a two minute walk to the beach, but it should be noted that the beach immediately adjacent to the property is NOT a swimming beach, but the 5 minute walk up to the Lydgate beach is stunning, peaceful, and quiet. Parts of Kauai feel like you have the island to yourself, and this location is one of them. I cannot say enough good things about it."

"This cute cottage was a great place to stay that is off the beaten path. The river is easily accessible from the house and easy to take the kayaks down to the pier. Having a washer and dryer was really nice after playing all day. When we had any questions, Candace was very quick to get back to us. Highly recommend this cottage!"
