Loved the North Shore location!

Host responded quickly to all questions. 10 min drive to Turtle Bay, where we attended a wedding and events. The beach at Turtle Bay is open to the public, which we found very desirable on windy days. Public parking with good signage and lots of available parking spaces

Beautiful and pleasant

Nice house and property, close to the beach and polynesian cultural center. The beach is less crowded and is beautiful. We had a comfortable and a pleasant stay here at this house. Owner is very friendly and responds to any questions/ concerns immediately.

Fun Times in Kahuku

We stayed in this home with our family of six, with children ranging from 4 years old to teenager. The home provided a lot of space, with 3 BR and 2 baths, a good size kitchen/eating area, beautiful deck, and family room. The laundry area had beach gear, such as chairs, boogie boards, and snorkeling gear. The host was very responsive and great to work with. It was very easy to get anywhere on the north shore.

North shore getaway

Nice and cozy, but listing doesn't give important details. Overall decent Could use better fans in all rooms. AC unit is a portable unit and only in the living room. Hot water is on a timer and washer is plumbed backwards. So if you do a load of laundry before showering, you will be taking a cold shower. Actual location is 10 minutes away from Turtle bay resort, not on it.

Overall good location. The listing is inaccurate for the location and check out time. Directions to the beach lead through a no trespassing area, but we didn't run into issues. The house in general was dusty and looked as if it needed a cleaning and hadn't been touched in a while. There was sand in the couch, laundry in the dry, dirty cup on the balcony, and various types of stains on the walls. As well as random clothes in the outside sink. VRBO host does communicate outside of the application. No checkout instructions were given at the time of checkout. I did ask for instructions. I did get repetitive instructions on location, followed with a phone call of "I thought I made myself clear". After that I felt uncomfortable asking more questions.

Beach house vibes

Overall, we had a great stay. All the things that mattered , the house provided. Sure, there is some maintenance the property could use and the kitchen could be better equipped for those of us that like to cook. One thing I would suggest would be a book with food options, attractions, maps etc., check in check out and feedback section.Having said that, the host was very resposive to questions/concerns and responded quickly to an air conditioner issue. She made check in easy and convenient and check out was chill as well. She also gave us some good recommendations for beaches and local grub. What you are paying for here, and I mean this with the utmost sincerity, is the location! You are less that 5 minutes from an INCREDIBLE beach, and you mostly will have it to yourself. The property is also very close to all the North Shore beaches (highly recommend sunsets on ...Sunset beach as a free but breathtaking experience) and attractions and most other things on the east side of the island are a convenient drive away. The food options within a half mile of this location are many. Recommendations include Sugar Mills/Seven brothers complex. This was our main food supply while here due to the variety, quality and costs are lower compared with "sit down" restaurants. The pizza truck, Seven Brothers, Sushi and deli hot sandwiches there were our favs. as wll as a Thai food truck a little down the way called "The Elephant". In short :), we would love to stay here again

Fraudulent Location and Bogus Address

This property is NOT LOCATED in Turtle Bay, as the owner falsely lists & advertises in the title. Also, the owner lists an address bubble that FALSELY shows the property in the Turtle Bay resort area, which it is NOT. This property is actually a 10 minute drive south of Turtle Bay in Kahuku and sits next to the KAHUKU GOLF COURSE and the beach requires a 10 minute difficult walk across the golf course and through government & private property to the KAHUKU beach. The property listing & address bubble of TURTLE BAY is inaccurate and deceptive. The property’s amenities are listed accurately; three bedroom, two bath, private home, washer/dryer, etc, although the air conditioning is located solely in the living room/kitchen area. So the bedrooms only have fans for cooling. It is a nice property and would be fine if accurately listed as being in south Kahuku. And after we booked and were unable to request a refund, the host did text to clarify that the property was a 5 min drive to Turtle Bay, which is also inaccurate because her property is a 10 min drive (45-60 minute walk) to Turtle Bay. We are baffled why the host isn’t truthful with the listing & location of her actual property. We contacted vrbo to inform them of the fraudulent listing. The host was informed and contacted us by phone not through VRBO. She was dismissive about the issues and accused us of being aggressive. We were forced to find alternate accommodations last minute, costing us more money and stress.

Perfect place for peace and quiet next to the beach. We had an awesome time at this beautiful accommodation. It was very clean and comfortable. The location of listing is not in turtle bay it is about 10 min drive from turtle bay. There is a beach that is walking distance but it has a lot of rocks. The house is nice as the pictures show but the location is not Turtle Bay.

Nice home

It’s NOT where advertised. We thought it was in Turtle Bay/Kawela Bay but it’s farther down the road in a neighborhood. There is no “short walk” to the beach. You have to walk through a golf course to get to a beach and it’s not within a visual distance from the home. It is close to a place where there are many food trucks and some shopping tents, which was great. The house is nice. Not very clean, and by the end of our 7 day stay there were about 50 flies in the house with no fly swatters. The portable air conditioning is wonderful. There are no washcloths so bring your own. No dressers and not many hangers in the closets. Great views of the golf course and lots of stars at night. We did enjoy our stay.

FRAUD/SCAM! Do NOT book this property! The location is listed as Turtle Bay Resort but the home a 10-minute drive from there. The non refundable policy means that once you realize you have been duped, you cannot get your money back.If dirty and cluttered is your vibe, this is the place for you. It looked like they were living there, forgot we were coming, and quickly packed a bag to leave. No guest book with instructions. No keys on the counter as instructed. When I messaged Vanessa that we were not comfortable staying there she responded, “I was there today and it looked great.” Look at the attached photos and decide if it looks great.We are trying to get VRBO to remove this fraudulent and dirty home from their website, but so far, it is still listed. We don’t want another family, especially one with young children or a group who is short on funds to find themselves without accommodations late at night. Nearby hotels are 500-700/night. We needed two rooms, so we drove 90 minutes back to Waikiki for one night until we found a comparable condo in Turtle Bay.We had to spend an additional 2200 for a four-night stay. The host refused our request for a refund and not surprisingly, has not responded to VRBO’s calls and emails. This is easy money for a scam artist. VRBO says our cleanliness complaints are “minor.” We will let the pictures do the talking.We have filed a formal complaint against the host with the Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection.

We booked this unit specifically because it was listed at Kuilima Dr, in the same complex as our family. However, the host, Vanessa, gave us a completely different address miles away on South Golf Course Road. This was a blatant misrepresentation. We were traveling with young children and proximity was critical. The last-minute location change was unacceptable and disruptive.We spent over an hour on the phone with Vanessa trying to find the property. She was slurring her words, incoherent, and appeared intoxicated, making the situation even more stressful after a long day of travel. Once we arrived, the condition of the unit was appalling. The master bathroom toilet was full of human waste and did not flush, making the area reek. The sheets were clearly unwashed, towels were filthy, dishes were dirty, and the entire unit was grimy. We had to wash everything ourselves just to make it livable. We wore slippers to shower due to how unsanitary it was.I sent multiple texts and emails to Vanessa throughout our stay and received no response whatsoever. This property was not only misrepresented, it was unsafe and unhygienic. We spent our own time and money cleaning instead of relaxing. This was a clear breach of contract and an unacceptable experience.She said she was “out of the country.” Unacceptable. Avoid this woman and all her rentals at all costs. I have been in contact with VRBO and expect resolution soon. I’ve never had an experience like this.

Spacious home

I’ll start with the cons; the checkin instructions were confusing, as they were for another property, and not the one we rented. When we arrived we had difficulty with the lockbox, not from user error, but because it had something sticky on it, making it difficult to open. I was expecting a welcome book, displaying the house rules, WiFi info, important contact numbers, local recommendations, etc. but there wasn’t one. We were a little disappointed to see the home did not look like it was cleaned well, a good wipe down of the counters/sinks, vacuum and shark mop could fix! There were ants behind the sink in the kitchen, but after spraying some bug spray found under the sink, that eliminated that problem. The owner informed us when we arrived that the delivery of an ac unit for the master bedroom was expected, it arrived on day 2.Now for the pros; the home is beautiful and spacious. I have to speak about the cozy comfy couch! We all had a nice nap on the couch at some point during our stay! It has a large enclosed yard for young ones to play safely. There were beach items available for use (chairs, umbrella, body boards) The location is not in Turtle Bay, but nearby, in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Beach access is a short walk away. Some recommendations that would elevate this rental would be; making sure the entire home is cleaned well prior to guests arriving, upgrading the bedroom curtains, (the master bedroom window faces the street, at night, cars driving by can

Avoid property at ALL COSTS.

By far the worst experience Ive ever had with a vacation rental AND host. First off, the address you receive when checking in is inaccurate. The address given during check in is a separate address about a 5 minute drive to the actual rental. The owner led us to the rented property and once we arrived, she WENT INSIDE the property and showed us around which was only the first red flag. The property is located in an unsafe neighborhood and we were not provided with keys. When we asked owner for the keys, she stated that we “don’t need keys because it is a safe neighborhood”. Upon arrival, we noticed bugs everywhere, broken microwave, DISGUSTING kitchen, dirty sheets, sticky and smelly property overall. The host was dismissive about the issues and once we reported them directly to vrbo, the host accused us of being unreasonable and refused to accommodate our issues. We were forced to find alternate accommodations last minute, costing us more money and stress. The host was rude, argumentative, and aggressive and instead of texting directly through vrbo, would text mean and unprofessional comments to my personal number. Save yourself the headache and AVOID THIS PROPERTY AT ALL COSTS.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY!We were very dissatisfied with this property. The wrong address was given in the ad, stating it was in Turtle Bay and in reality was 10 minutes away. The property was very dirty and was infested with bugs. The towels and sheets seemed unclean,the bathroom shower curtain was torn and the bathroom rugs looked like they hadn't been washed for quite a while.The ad stated that there were beach chairs and snorkel gear which was inaccurate. The beach chairs were rusted and unstable. There was a beach umbrella but it was broken . The air conditioning was insufficient and failed to cool the whole house. The kitchen was gross and we did not feel comfortable preparing food there. It was advertised that the beach was walking distance from the home but the beach was not conducive for swimming, The beds were advertised as queen size but the front bedroom was a double. The beds were very uncomfortable. Again I recommend not renting this property
