This was the perfect location for a stay in Maui! You could walk to all the great restaurants and shopping and are right on the beach with an ocean view. The unit was clean and as described, with a nice view from the balcony. We would definitely stay here again!

This condo had all we needed. And we traveled with two teens who slept on the fold out couch. There was plenty of room and both beds were comfortable. The view is amazing and we love the location. Also the host is very responsive. I’d stay here again if we get to come back.
Love this place. Second time staying at the Aston Whaler and definitely reconmend it. The room faced Black Rock and beautiful view. Room was recently updated and beautifully decorated. Owner was easy to get ahold of to resolve an issue. Would stay here again. Mahalo!
We had the best stay! The condo was great, a beautiful lanai, snorkeling right out front, located next to the village, and the grounds at The Whaler are beautiful. Every time I had a question, Kelli got right back to me- I was so appreciative. We will definitely be back! Mahalo!

Felt like home and the owners and property managers were so nice and helpful. We highly recommend this location and especially this specific condo. We will definitely be back.
Nice, well kept property. Grateful for a kitchen because restaurants were expensive. The pool was a good temperature and loved being right at the beach. Appreciated being close to shopping for our daily sunscreen purchase and local foods. We really liked the grill area and path that runs along beach We highly recommend this condo and had a great time.
We love the Whaler. Fully equipped condo. Immediately next door to Whaler’s Village which has multiple restaurants and shops. Right on Ka’anapali beach. No negatives from us, we think this is paradise.

This was a beautiful, spacious unit! Bed was comfy and showers had great water pressure. Plenty of closet/storage space. Views of stunning Ka'anapali beach and Black Rock were SPECTACULAR! Unit was super quiet! Hated to check out when that time came. Locstion perfect on beach and clse to shopping and restaurants as well as tours. Owners VERY timely and responsive to questions before our arrival. On site staff very pleasant and check in and out was easy peasy.
The condo is beautiful, well appointed and comfortable. It was a great hang space for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed -- which was super helpful when we wanted to take a break from eating out. Both Kelli and Vance were responsive to all of my questions -- both before and during our visit. When we return to Kaanapali, we will definitely try to rent their condo again.
This spot was perfect for my husband and I as we enjoyed Maui for a week and celebrated a family wedding. The bed was comfortable and we loved having two bathrooms and the bedroom separate from the living and kitchen area. The finishes were beautiful and everything was well stocked. The hosts were marvelous and responsive and the property is in a great location with a wonderful view. We enjoyed all of the walkable restaurants and snorkeling at black rock (also walkable). We spent one night in the Ritz in Kapalua and we much preferred this condo at the Whaler! We highly recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Really enjoyed our stay yet again at The Whaler’s Resort. This was our first time staying in this unit and for the most part it is as advertised. Many updates are apparent and make for a comfortable stay. We had no major issues however there was some leftover trash in the unit when we checked in but it was not a deal breaker for us. Although many updates look great the tubs are pretty work and have just open drains. There was also quite a bit of dirt on the ceiling fan grill in the bath as well as some frayed carpet (albeit new) near one of the sliding doors. Lastly, he hot water takes forever to hit the showers and when it does it’s just lukewarm. Again, not a deal breaker for us, but with the prices you pay at this property we’ve seen more attention to the details.
This property was terrific for our family. It has a beautiful ocean/beach view. The location of the Whaler Resort is excellent as the beach is right in front, the mall is right next-door with excellent stores and an ABC store to get essentials. It is also a close walk to Black Rock for snorkeling and cliff jumping. We saw sea turtles every day and whales from the large patio of the condo. They were also excellent working with us when we needed to modify our reservation. The front desk staff when we checked in were also some of the most pleasant and easy-going staff that we have worked with. The master bedroom is huge and the bed was comfortable. The AC unit for master and main area worked well. The pullout sofa bed was actually nice per our kids report and the rollaway bed was there when we showed up. It was really a pleasant place. Pickle Ball/tennis courts were also a big plus.
We absolutely loved this condo and the location was perfect. The place is completely updated with nice furniture, comfortable bed and all of the kitchen utensils one could possibly need. Having two bathrooms is a bonus and their was plenty of towels. The washer and dryer is not in the unit, but super close and free to use. The view from the condo is amazing! The previous review is misleading, while the condo is not ocean front it is about a close as you can get. You can see the ocean while sitting on the couch and from the bedroom. Sure if you are in the bathrooms you won't be able to see the ocean. The waves crashing is so loud you can hear it with the slider doors closed!
As for the kitchen and utensils, everything was absolutely clean despite what the previous reviewer wrote. The dishwasher left spots so maybe he confused that with being dirty. A little rinse aid would fix it. As far as the taste of the water, thats subjective.
Being in the middle of Whaler's village was fantastic! And the added bonus of bbq's made it so convenient to do our own cooking. We would definitely rent this unit again. Thank you!
We spent 12 nights in this beautiful condo at the Whaler. This was our second time at the Whaler and this property was by far the most updated of the two. The photos in the listing were spot on and it turned out ot be just as gorgeous in real life. It had everything we needed to have a good time for almost two weeks. The hosts (Kelli, Christiana, and Vance) were all very responsive to all our questions and requests, and made sure everything went smoothly. Our only complaint was the construction that was happening on our tower. Unfortunately, it was pretty loud on each weekday when they were working on it from morning to evening. Having had a 7-month old, we had to spend a considerable amount of time in the unit during the day. To our luck, there were also days when some other units were having work done so the noise in our bedroom was almost unbearable time to time, which bothered not only us but also out little one’s sleep schedule. When I contacted Vance about the construction, he generously offered to relocate us to another one of his properties in Kahana but due to the inconvenience and our preference for the Whaler, we decided to stay. He also mentioned he priced this condo lower than usual for our dates because of the planned construction but this was never mentioned to us and it wasn’t noted in the listing as well. If we had known, we might have chosen the other tower or another resort nearby. However, we still had a great time at this stunning condo.
Amazing location and a very comfortable unit. The host was very communicative and super responsive, amazing overall with a few minor things. The Whaler is one of the better locations on Kaanapali, and this unit is in tower 1 which faces away from the noise of Whaler village (in contrast, tower 2 units is sandwiched between tower 1 and restaurants/Whalers village). You don't have an ocean view when directly looking out of either windows, and that's fair/typical for the price point of this unit. Stepping out to the balcony you see the ocean at a close angle. The unit also felt very spacious for a 1bed/2bath (it's double the size of the studio units). Comfortable bed, and the check-in process was smooth. A few suggestions or minor things that didn't bother us too much:
- All 3 hand soap dispensers were watered down, to the point that it felt like 95% water. We had to go to the store & buy our own soap. I'll give the benefit of the doubt that this was done mistakenly by another guest - but if future guests face the same issue, it's fair to deduct a point
- Water is very hard/distasteful & fridge has no dispenser to filter. Adding a Brita filter will be a great addition
- Many dishes & utensils were dirty
- Installing towel hooks would be great. We found it difficult to hang towels from anywhere
- At $15 a bag, providing coffee would be a cheap/fantastic addition
- Other full-kitchen places we've stayed at provide cooking oil, sugar,basic spices (pepper shaker was out too)
We had an amazing time staying here. It was equipped with everything we needed for our stay and communication with the owner was very prompt. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to others.
Our stay was AMAZING! This condo had everything we needed and then some. I especially liked having the large Brita filter in the refrigerator. It definitely came in handy. This property exceeded our expectations. Not only was it very clean, but it also had breathtaking views. I definitely recommend staying here.
