"Hotel Metropol was perfect for our quick stay in Basel. It is located steps from the train station. The staff is helpful. When we arrived before check in to ask if we could store our luggage while sightseeing, they said our rooms were ready and allowed us to check in early. How nice! We were able to walk all over the city from our hotel. We enjoyed our one-night stay here. We were not able to have breakfast at the hotel as we had an early departure the next morning. We would recommend staying here. "

They brought a fan up for me because as an American we need moving air in a room! Windows open nicely as well. They could use a few more pillows on the bed. The hotel is very convenient to the heart of Basel. If you're coming in from the train, jump on the 30 bus and get off at the very first stop. The hotel is directly across the street.
