Large property with privacy in a beautiful setting. Perfect for a getaway with my 3 univeristy aged kids for reading break. I am always so appreciative for rentals that allow pets. It was so nice to be able to take a dog walk on the property. A good loop around could take about 20 mins so not always having to drive somewhere was really nice. Its an older cabin, nicely updated while still keeping its character and charm. Would love to stay again.
We loved this property it was perfect for a quiet relaxing getaway. We enjoyed the area, scenic easy hikes, beaches and excellent local dining. The cottage was very private with fabulous ocean views. The beds and bedding were really comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bbq and patio area was perfect for dining and sipping wine in the evening and coffee in the morning. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for something away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Private place with a view of the ocean. Lots of trails and beaches near by. Everything was as advertised. House was well stocked. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
The house was perfect for our group of three couples who biked the Galloping Goose Trail. The rooms were adequate with comfortable beds, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals, but the best feature was the big deck with panoramic views of the ocean for our post cycling happy hours.
Location, location, location!!! What an amazing location. To be able to sit on the deck, sip a glass of wine with friends and watch cruise ships go by was amazing. The home was spacious and well kept. The yard was huge, perfect for outdoor activities and very private. Definitely would recommend

My month long stay was absolutely fantastic! Ships, Submarines, resident Eagle family, Hummingbirds, Robins, Rabbits and a Black Bear even stole my garbage can:) Will definitely be back!
Beautiful rustic lodge with lots of space to spread out for the 5 of us. Had a rainy day so we had a nice log fire inside too. Well appointed kitchen for making our meals. Gorgeous views from the patio.

Location was perfect. Excellent view with nice deck. Big yard. Upstairs was nice. Downstairs was unclean on arrival and musty smelling. Property manager sent out cleaners to reclean.
Returning here is immediately relaxing. Everything we need is at hand. The home and its furnishings are like a time capsule back to the 1970’s. We did appreciate the updated walk-in shower on the first floor. We’ve already reserved for next year.
Staying at this property was a nature lovers dream. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed, and more. The host and property manager were friendly and informative. The view from the yard and back deck was amazing. We saw an orca whale swim by, enjoyed watching the bald eagle, listening to the ravens converse, feeling the warm sunshine and cool breeze, and just getting mesmerized by the sea and mountain view. All of this nature, yet it was a short drive to local shops and wonderful restaurants. If we are ever lucky enough to find ourselves on Vancouver Island in the future, we would definitely love to stay at this property again.

Beautiful setting. Plenty of room for seven people in our party. The dehumidifier in the downstairs suite failed and flooded the carpeting. The other downstairs bedroom seem to be OK. Although we got the barbecue to work, it had been put together incorrectly on the grease tray was not able to be used so we put foil on the deck to catch the grease. The dogs love being there. They got lots of exercise.
Wonderful view from deck across Salish Sea to Olympic Peninsula mountains. We spotted many whales, with binoculars supplied by host. Hot afternoon sun on deck - bring something for shade as there is no umbrella. There is a large mowed area in front of deck ideal for badminton or volleyball (not supplied). There is a path part way down to shore but you have to drive to get to coast. Location is a good base for exploring beaches north of Sooke, as well as for the going to Potholes provincial park, half an hour south. Good large grocery store in Sooke as well as liquor store, pharmacy etc. The main floor has two bedrooms at the back, the smaller one is next to bathroom, the larger one is nice and bright. Comfortable beds with nice duvets. Downstairs there is a full suite- bedroom, living area with another bed and couch that converts to bed, kitchen and bathroom, so the house is ideal for two families. The house is older but has been partially renovated - nice new kitchen counter top and cupboards, bathroom vanity, but older bathtub shower. The large marble dining table on main floor has a fantastic view and six large comfortable chairs, with more chairs downstairs and three more bar chairs at counter. Bring a tablecloth or placemats, and games! There was a fairly significant plumbing blockage when we arrived- the property manager was very responsive in sending a plumber right away but the issue wasn’t fully resolved as of our departure.
Loved: houselarge enough for a big family to hang out together or separately, viewincredible, locationawesome. Unfortunately, there were 2 major disruptions. On arrival, the heat didn’t work. We texted right away, but it took until the 2nd AM for a handyman to confirm the radiant system wasn’t functioning & activate backup baseboard system. On the 2nd night we were able to use the fireplace to warm up the main floor, but that didn’t do folks sleeping in the basement much good. Also, Thurs we started having intermittent water pressure issues. Sunday, the pressure was completely gone, sediment was visibly emanating from the taps, plus something in the locked utility closet was making a loud noise after any use of water. We texted before 7am for help, which came in the afternoon. The plumber found a well pump problem, requiring a part unavailable until Tuesday. We were instructed not to drink tap water and provided filtered water; we were told showers were ok, but they weren’t feasible for lack of pressure. We get that systems break and appreciate the efforts to mitigate. But it was really frustrating to deal w/ both issues during a 7-day trip. Other notes: Having followed up re: property access 6 hrs before check-in time, we were told someone would meet us in person, so we hustled to be there at 4 – but then check-in happened by phone. There were stained linens and unswept floors. Finally, listing says 3 BRs upstairs / 1 in the basement, when it’s really 2/2.

There was little contact with us until I reached out the day of our arrival to get further details. The power went out during our stay which is not the renters fault, but that did leave us without water. The kitchen had all the amenities and appliances you will need.
