One of the best hotels ever!
Amazing hotel and staff- felt like you were staying with family. Nothing was too much bother. The rooms were gorgeous, restaurant was excellent- had dinner and breakfast and can highly recommend both. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at- absolutely perfect. Special thanks to Towe (not sure on spelling) who looked after us amazingly.

Love stay. Excellent staff. Great restaurant.
LOVED this villa! So clean, cute, modern, amazing restaurant. Service was excellent, staff was friendly. Truly a lovely stay. Sweet little treats and complimentary champagne upon entry. Minibar also complimentary. Just lovely.

My 3rd time staying here. And I’ll definitely be back. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are welcoming and friendly. My friend and I were given a free bottle of champagne to celebrate NYE - nice touch. Thank you very much for your welcoming hospitality.

Nice place near Sandton
Very friendly staff. Very nice and quiet place. Beautiful garden. Nicely furnished rooms. Negative point: Bed Linen had stains and also table cloth and napkins. I would suggest to change the laundry.

Luxury boutique hotel in a leafy suburb of Johannesburg. Very close to Sandton City & Mandela Square. Lovely restaurant & well stocked bar.

First Class Luxury
We arrived early, so our room was not ready, but we had breakfast, which was a great introduction to this quality hotel. Good service and fine food. Also had dinner at the hotel, which was a fine dining experience. 5 Star Room. Felt secure

Wow! Exceptional experience.
I travel the world often and must say I’ve never experienced customer service like this place. Almost my entire stay; there was literally an employee outside my door if I needed anything.

Very nice place. An oasis of tranquility .
We had to stay two nights in Johannesburg between two planes. We could have stayed in an airport hotel...but we made the very best decision. Go for this Relais&Chateaux boutique hôtel. That was the very best decision. Why stay in an international, noisy, casino hotel close to the airport, when you have paradise at arms length. Do not hesitate. We did not regret our choice. You won't either. Thanks to the team at Athol Place...and to the two ibis birds for beautiful photo shots.

Great for business or pleasure
From the moment I arrived, the staff was super helpful and friendly. The hotel is small, and the rooms are very comfortable. The décor is modern and glamourous. The food is extremely good. I honestly have no complaints about my stay. It is so close to Mandela Square, and I really liked how safe it felt. If you are there for work, the internet was great... in the room and down stairs. I will stay here again next time in Joburg.

Stylish hotel, good service
Stayed 2 nights. Large, spacious rooms and good service. They try to personalise their service e.g. welcome card, turn down service with card and chocolates from the chamber maid. They also gave a huge chocolate chip cookie to us as a snack when we checked out. Nice touch.

An oasis of calm and warm service
From the moment we were welcomed, we didn't want to leave the hotel. It's a small, quiet, lush peaceful garden oasis with a very private and relaxing feel. We decided not to leave the property all day on our first day. Great food, loved the breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wonderful warm service, especially from bar and restaurant staff and from everyone we met there. Felt like home. Such a great choice to start off our vacation.

Perfect stay
We ended up in Joburg for 2 extra nights after a tropical storm changed our travel plans and friends recommended AtholPlace. I am so glad they did! This is a gorgeous property with highly attentive staff and some of the best food I've eaten in Africa, period. The service was impeccable and the staff makes sure everything you could possibly want is taken care of. When our flight needed to change, they even helped us find someone late on a Friday to help us sort it out. I will absolutely send friends here in the future and the next time we're in Joburg I will 100% be staying and dining at AtholPlace!

Athol Place is a charming boutique hotel within easy reach of Sandton City and the Gautrain. Like a little oasis, it is nestled in a quiet residential area and has all the requisites of a romantic getaway. The rooms are spacious, airy and stylish, with clean, modern bathrooms.

I had a fantastic stay at AtholPlace, the staff were really friendly, but not obtrusive. The decor is fantastic and the place really feels relaxed. I liked the personal touches, such as when I visited Cape Town for the day, I advised one of the staff that I wouldnt be back that night, and when I returned the next day I was greeted at the entrance (as they always did) with "Welcome back Mr. XXX how was your trip to Cape Town" from a completely different staff member. My only VERY slight criticism is that the pool looked at bit dirty on the bottom and there were quite a few leaves floating around and the shower could have been cleaned fully into the corners. But these didn't detract from the experience. I'll be coming back every time I'm in Jo'Burg.

Trevligt och välskött litet hotell med bra service
Mysigt litet hotell med uppvärmd pool. Lite tråkigt kort meny i restaurangen om man stannar ett tag. Sköna sängar och underbara rymliga rum. Dock fick man som vanligt inte de rummet som står beskrivet, skulle vara med utsikt in mot trädgården men hamnade ut mot parkeringen. Men helhetsupplevelsen blir ändå i stort sett full poäng!

Super hôtel "boutique" (une 10aine de chambres seulement) Oasis de calme loin du tumulte !
