The Palatin was built in 1936 and is very old-school Israel/European. They put me in an older section of the hotel (ground floor) which seemed dirtier than the rest of the hotel, but I had a small dog with me and maybe that was why. The room was absolutely fine - hot water, great water pressure, comfortable bed, warm radiator heating (plus an additional wall heater, if needed). I would happily stay here again except for the two electrical towers that are directly across the narrow pedestrian 'street' and directly across from my window. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was a cold buffet that was more than enough for nourishment. If you are not disturbed by the electrical towers, then this is a wonderful, inexpensive, centrally located, and friendly place to stay.
We had to cancel our booking after the check in. The rooms are far away from the photos posted by and about the hotel, they are old-fashioned, dirty, small, smelly and in very bad condition. They tried to offer another room with the same quality, that was totally nonsense. It is in worse condition than in a cheap hostel. When we asked them about the photos posted on Hotels.com it was told that these qualities are required by these websites (even if they are not real). That's crazy.

Very central hotel
the room isn't like photos, it's too old and need a seriously renovation.. but its very central next to everything cafes bakery restaurants bars and the light tram stop is 50m away. Good heating in late November and very helpful staff.Breakfast is quite good
Nagyon jó helyen van a hotel. Busz, villamos közel van. A sarkon van egy nagyon jó étkezde. Minden nap tiszta törölköző. Reggeli finom bőséges. A kávét szemes kávéfôzővel lehet készíteni. Napközben bármikor lehet kávét teát üdítőt inni.
The staff was very friendly and the location is great, but the room needs to be renovated and the mattressess are old and soft and need to be replaced.

the hotel is good for backpackers only. NO ELEVATOR IF YOU HAVE LUGGAGES.
This is my third time to stay at the Palatin hotel. All the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. I lost my carry on en route from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on the shuttle bus (Nesher driver gave my carry on to another person). Karmi and Eli at the reception tried their best to help me find it.
Getachew also at reception helped me very much as well. I find the Palatin to have a home like atmosphere, breakfast is always good even if more of the same and the rooms are always clean and towels are fresh.

The picture is too nice. The hotel is old, having an uncomfortable bathroom, no fridge in the room, you can hear your neighbors.
Breakfast is ok missing sweet bakery or fruits.
