The Hotel looks better from the picture. The real issue we had was that the heating was not working and the hotel staff could not fix the problem. They gave us a 15% discount which mitigated the issue
The location was good, it is barely 13 minute walk to both Jaffa Gate and Zion Gate, so the center of everything is just there, that is uneatable about the hotel.
Beautiful hotel looking at the walls of old Jerusalem. The hotel has an interesting history of it own. We plan to stay at Mount Zion Boutique hotel again next year.

"Boutique Hotel" is a Misnomer
It's a great location, being about a 20 minute walk from the Old City. But, the hotel lacked the niceties that I've found at other places. We had to ask to have additional shampoo, soap, etc, and the items were left hanging in a bag on our door. The beds were made in a short-sheeted style, which was annoying. There wasn't coffee or water available in the lobby, as we had in our hotel in Tel Aviv. On the plus side, the breakfast was delicious, although the service was not good. The hotel staff ranged from horrible to phenomenal (one young man who went the extra mile for us.) The pool is big and is good for swimming laps if that's important to you. I would not call this place a "Boutique Hotel." Granted, it's not the US, I realize, but we stayed in a more modest, less expensive hotel in Tel Aviv that had many more "bells and whistles" than this place.
This is a charming hotel with gorgeous views and a beautiful pool not typical for this category, which is let down by poor maintenance and housekeeping staff and one particularly surly front desk clerk. We come back for its location which is convenient for us, the local feel of the historic parts of the complex, the great breakfasts, and always ponder why they don't prioritize better maintenance of the property and higher standards of cleanliness. Thiere was a particularly unspeakable situation greeting us in our bathroom which was grudgingly addressed without it occurring to anyone to offer an apology. Additionally those booking through Expedia may find themselves treated as second class citizens by the aforementioned surly front desk clerk, who denied the hotel's acknowledgement and undertaking to accommodate our request for an early check in withe the statement that they'd never accommodate such a request from an Expedia booker, notwithstanding being shown the email from the hotel on my phone. Notwithstanding, we enjoy this hotel and appreciated being upgraded to a suite, but wish the management would inculcate some values of customer service in the staff.
The hotel said that there was no problem finding public parking nearby.
Luckily someone from Jerusalem helped us park our car and "not nearby".
We were very surprised to find out that breakfast was not included..
Beautiful boutique hotel, great location, walking distance to the Old City and other parts of Jerusalem

The hotel itself is very nice. It is near the old city so one can walk from there. However, don’t stay at this hotel if you expect good service or staff to be pleasant. During our stay only one member of staff was helpful. The front desk deserve the trophy for worst service and disgusting customer service. We arrived early and no attempt was made to get us a room. We were told to wait until 3pm. Okay that is the rules but it was the attitude of the staff that stood out. Checking out was worse. We had a late checkout but the staff said we didn’t. I had to show them the print out from Expedia. Then they reluctantly agreed. However we had cleaners constantly knocking on the door asking when we were leaving the room. When we eventually left, the guy on the reception was so obnoxious. He never said thank you just gave us the bill and then dumped the change on the counter. Horrible staff. Choose another to stay as it is not worth the money.
We Stayed here 12 years ago and it was great. Now it seems like the staff doesn’t care at all. Service was poor the sheets on the bed didn’t fit or torn. The hotel is situated for a perfect view but the windows were filthy. The staff were downright argumentative, not a pleasant experience at all.
