"We had a nice two-night (Friday through Sunday) stay. Great location. Good value. Nice and clean, but no maid service that we noticed. Breakfast was fine. There were a few minor issues that caused me to deduct one star. The lock on the room door was not adequate to provide a secure feeling. The inn is next to a music venue that had live performances both nights we were there. Although the upper parking lot is supposed to be reserved for Light Horse residents, and there are enough parking spaces to accommodate them, there were no spaces to be found either night when we returned after 8:00 pm. We could not get past the first screen on the television that asked us to input our departure date. I called the number provided on our check-in sheet (which was taped to the entrance of the inn) and left a voicemail, but it was not returned (the chef was the only employee we ever saw). I think slow WiFi may have been the problem with not getting television service. But, overall, I would recommend the Light Horse Inn and would stay there again if in the Harper's Ferry area."

"Would definitely stay again. Great location; about a quarter-mile to Rabbit Hole Restaurant and maybe another quarter-mile to the historic park. Very comfy furniture! We enjoyed sitting on the front porch. It's a very quiet area after dark. She had a couple of dog beds in the house which made our dogs extra comfy!"

"Nice place in a great location! My husband and I had a great couple nights here for an anniversary quick trip! Lots of hiking trails and beautiful views in the area. The cottage is within walking distance to shops and a few bars and restaurants. We took the train in and didn’t even rent a car. Host was very responsive to any questions we had. Would stay again for another quick trip !"

Historic High Street Retreat

"This house is so cute and convenient when visiting Harpers Ferry since it’s a super short walk to all historical sites, shops, and restaurants with some literally steps from the house. It’s also a short drive from lots of great breweries and wineries. The view from the porch is amazing! It was one of the best stocked houses we’ve ever stayed in. It had everything we needed. Bed was comfy and we loved the second floor sectional couch for watching tv after a day of exploring. Such a cool house and the hosts provided lots of helpful info prior to check in. We highly recommend this house unless you have someone in your group that struggles with steps. The house is old and both the inside and outside steps are steep and narrow. Also trains come in all through the night and they blow the horn because of the crossings, so that could be an issue for some people. We loved bringing our doggie with us and were pleased that the steps weren’t an issue for him."
