"I had booked Great Lake Hotel as an overnight stop between Strahan and Hobart. I made a mistake and booked Great Lake Hotel one night earlier than our actual arrival time. The staff and Great Lake Hotel were extremely accomodating to our situation (we were known as Room 7, since that is the room number we were supposed to have used on the previous night), and allowed us to stay in Room 3 with no extra charge. We had a good dinner at the restaurant while our room was prepared. After dinner, we had a nice conversation with the a person we assumed to be the owner. What could have been a disaster turned into a story with a happy ending. Room 3 was pleasant enough, with a nice view of the lake and a comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. "

"A lovely cottage that had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The little extra touches were welcome eg a bottle of milk, vase of greenery. The quiet atmosphere and view enhance a real holiday break from home pressures. "

"We had a family weekend stay for our first trip to Tassie. I really liked how quirky this accommodation looked and it didnt disappoint. Old brick building, beautiful beams, gorgeous door in keeping with its older style. We were in the section by reception and noise was not an issue (I'd been a little concerned by some other reviews). There's a bend in the road that some boy-racers seem to like flying along, but we didn't notice any excessive noise. Bathroom a decent size, clean, daily housekeeping. About 15min walk to the marina and the main part of town, so well located. Walking distance to catarct gorge. Easy parking on site. Definitely go to the Penny Royal Adventure area onsite. We had a great time rock climbing, doing the rope bridges and zip lining. Would return if we ever go back to Launceston."

Expedia app doesn't handle VRBO booking messaging or host contact at all. Only managed to contact owner on web after checking in somewhere else."
