"I thought this place was really nice, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The private bath is a nice addition for all guests, there are two of them that do not require reservation, and it’s nice to just soak there if available. The location is convenient and it’s right next to one of the 7 bathhouses… but it’s farther from the better ones. The best part about the stay here was the Sashimi dinner platter. The sashimi you get at the start of every dinner is some of the freshest sashimi you will ever eat. It’s S tier sashimi, it’s the best I’ve had in Japan. The rooms are cozy, I stayed in Kasuga, just above the building overlooking the street. There isn’t a shower in the room, you’re encouraged to bath in the 7 bathhouses. "

"Thank you to the staff for creating a beautiful experience. The team was diligent, kind, and empathetic to our needs. Guest services provided excellent assistance with understanding Japanese etiquette and local traditions. Our host spoke English, as well as many other languages! We were so impressed with the effort everyone put in to make our stay and honeymoon special. We will never forget this trip. Arrived to Kinosaki by train, sent our luggage ahead, and it was waiting in our room upon entry. Guest services welcomed us and explained the customs and rules of the ryokan. We were taken to our room, where our host showed us how to dress in yukata, booked our meals for our stay, and answered all our questions. It was a lovely chat that left us with enthusiasm. Later on, our hosts came back with a gift to share their well wishes for our honeymoon. We were so touched by their hospitality. The room was stunning. The floors were very comfortable to sit on, and the view of the water garden left us feeling very relaxed. The treats inside the room were very yummy as well! We were also fully stocked with beverages, which were refilled daily. The onsens were truly magical, leaving us feeling rejuvenated. Breakfast was incredible! If we were to ever return to Kinosaki, we would happily stay at Onishiya Suishoen again. "

The room was beautiful, the tatami very comfortable and the onsen experience unique. I recommend having breakfast and dinner every day of your stay as the food quality and service surpasses anything available in town. Will be going back for sure."

Every interaction felt genuine, attentive, and thoughtful. The food was outstanding. Both dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented and full of flavor, easily one of the highlights of the stay. You can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. The room was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly designed in a traditional style, which really added to the overall experience. "The rooms are spacious and have a pretty view of the river though do not opt for the cot if you cannot get a triple Buffet is generous but does not change so recommend not prebooking food if staying more than one night. For breakfast and dinner it’s decent but to gets repetitious. Walkable to town but not central. Does have limited shuttle service. "
