Historic Hotels & Resorts in Ionian Coast from AU$138

The hotel is pleasant, very quiet. The best part was the restaurant. Excellent food, very fresh, reasonable prices, top service too. - One of the annoying things for a lot of travellers (I stay in 50-60 hotels every year), are noisy mini bar fridges. I always turn them off over night when they are noisy. Not many people use them anyway, who wants to pay €2.50 or more for a coke? This one had an especially loud hum (it may not seem so during the day), but it was impossible to turn it off. It...

Great location which is close to the historical sites. The staff are wonderful and the breakfast is fresh and tasty. There is good safe parking nearby and access to the Hillel is very good. We saw lots of people dragging luggage through paved roads looking for their Air B&B which showed us that a great location this hotel is in. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Perfect location. Great sized rooms. Great staff

It’s a nice place, friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast. It is near a quarry and perhaps a cement making facility, so not so picturesque. The garden and grounds are lovely and it’s quiet. It’s also hard to find on Google maps and glad I saw the sign on the way into town

This is a cave hotel. Our room was on the top floor inside a cave. The view from our room faced the old town of Matera. It was spectacular. Breakfast offered a great variety of food, coffee made for you, fresh! The staff was so friendly. High recommended. Please note, if you are driving into Matera, you will need to park in a nearby garage, and catch the shuttle to this hotel. This area is steep and roads uneven, therefore you need good walking shoes.

The property is well located and has a stunning view. The property has a great location close to a lot of major sites and dining options. From the initial shuttle service to our car and hospitable staff, the hotel is a great stay.

5 stars is not enough for Conche Luxury Hotel. From the comprehensive information provided prior to arrival, to our welcome from Carla, the amazing, spacious room and wonderful amenities, this property ticks all the boxes. It is superbly located within the Sassi of Matera and it’s easy to access key sites. Carla provided us with a map, highlighting areas of interest. She also recommended numerous restaurants and even booked us in to one when we returned later in the afternoon. Her recommendation...
