"Incredible sandstone cave bedroom . Spacious and atmospheric. Cool and quiet. Jacuzzi tub. Delicious breakfast with many local products. Excellent coffee. Staff were bright and cheerful. Big shout out to Val who went above and beyond in tying my dates together. The spa is a real treat at the end of a day discovering the many levels of Matera. The staff there too are excellent. Thank you Jenny for the wonderful massage! This place is uniquely positioned on the quiet side of the Sassi. Almost all of the rooms have a balcony or terrace with dramatic views. It’s ancient history and you’re cocooned within it. Unique. "

"We would definitely recommend this property, just highlighting a lot of confusion around dining table assignments, and that for some reasons the outdoor one kept being moved under the sun despite plenty of availability under the shaded areas and us moving the tables every time clearly annoyed of the sun. Another element of improvement we would have liked is availability of water bottle refilling stations around the property."
