About this property
A Little Gem in The West Highlands, Argyll Inveraray Loch Fyne views, sleeps 4
Fairfield is a delightful, two bedroomed Edwardian cottage all on one level. It is situated on the Northern shore of Loch Fyne, has panoramic views of the loch of& the surrounding hills and is ideal for doorstep walking up into the hills or along the shores of the Loch. It is also a perfect base from which to explore the West Highlands. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard which successfully combines the convenience of contemporary living with the warmth and comfort of a cosy cottage. Many of the original features are retained, including high ceilings, doors and fireplaces. Whatever the weather or time of year, the wood burning stove in the sitting room (an addition to the central heating) ensures the cottage remains warm, inviting and very welcoming after a day on the hills. The cottage has been furnished with a fine eye to detail, from the restful/understated colour on the walls (Farrow and Ball), to comfortable beds, fine linen and soft furnishings which reflect the Highlands. There is a local village store/post office and cafe within five minutes walking distance where you can buy newspapers, eggs milk bread etc. The nearest supermarket is in Inveraray. The area is well known for its fine food and produce with the original Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and Inverawe Smokery being close by (around 45 minutes by car). Furnace is only six miles from Inveraray. With the famous Inveraray Castle and Jail it's a “must do” visit”. The Loch Fyne Hotel -on the outskirts of Inveraray, offers a great Spa day if the weather is inclement. Lochgilphead, Crinan Canal, Kilmartin Glen and Oban (the Gateway to the Isles) are all within 20-60 minutes drive. Taking a ferry to Mull and/or Iona ( Iona Abbey) makes for a fabulous day out. A home from home with a multitude of things to fill at least a week, Fairfield is a wonderful place in which to unwind, relax and explore both the immediate countryside and further afield. Haste ye back!
Located in Inveraray, this cottage is in a rural area and on the waterfront. A true gem located 10 minutes drive from Inveraray. Great day trips in all directions. Kitchen, bedrooms, living room and patio room are all pleasant, comfortable and cozy with all you need to settle in for a few nights.
We all loved the property. It was comfortable, clean, had all we needed and was in a fantastic village with friendly people. Easy to get to Inverary with the wonderful castle.
We had a lovely stay, the accommodation was spotless and wonderfully presented. Lots of little extras which made it very homely. The bed heaters were much appreciated as the weather had turned cold. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area!
The cottage was very sweet and suited our needs well. We were so pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the little town of Inveraray was, and had fun dining/walking around there. We also enjoyed exploring Loch Lomond from Luss - we took a short little boat ride and then had a picnic near the water. A very relaxing leg of our trip :). Thank you, Patsy.
The cottage is lovely and cosy and very clean. We felt very comfortable during our 17-day stay in the cottage and enjoyed sitting in the winter garden with the beautiful view of the countryside. Very nice location on Loch Fyne, very good starting point for trips to the coast, islands and Glasgow.
Very nice contact with the landlady!
well presented property was a little concerned about shower over bath as have slight mobility problems but worked well Enjoyed time spent in the conservatory watching the wildlife, A really lovely break and would stay again.
The property lived up to its description- little gem. It was ideally located, comfortable , clean , pleasantly furnished and had a welcome pack of essentials which we were very grateful for. A very enjoyable week in a beautiful area with plenty to see and do. The added bonus was great weather . Would definitely recommend.
Great cottage - photos don’t do it justice. Well supplied kitchen with everything you could need or want. Cosy and comfortable lounge, wood burner was lovely and all the tv and internet worked perfectly making it a great hideaway even in poor weather. Comfy bedroom with electric blankets - perfect for lazy winter mornings.
We loved our time here. The house was clean, cosy and homely, had everything we needed and more and the master bed was soooo comfortable!
We had a minor issue whilst staying but Patsy the owner was very friendly and communicated well and acted quickly to resolve, she was a pleasure to deal with.
The house is perfectly located as every window you look out of house a different amazing view.
Spectacular walks right out of the back gate and out the front down by the loch. We were lucky to have snow whilst we were there making it all the more breathtaking.
We travelled to some of the local areas, taking in even more views along the way, Inveraray was our favourite, especially The George Hotel.
The shop a few minutes walk away hosts a pop up licensed restaurant in the village hall, so we took advantage of this being so close and the food and environment were great and the locals were very friendly which made for a lovely night.
We would definitely visit here again, it would be beautiful in any season.
This charming cottage-style Vrbo was exceptional, blending modern comforts with the warmth and character of a Highland retreat. Every detail was thoughtfully updated, from the luxurious soaker tub and spacious shower to the fully equipped contemporary kitchen, perfect for brewing a fresh coffee or preparing your own meals. The airtight wood-burning fireplace created a wonderfully cozy atmosphere, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring.
One of our favourite places was the solarium, where mornings began with coffee and evenings ended in peaceful reflection. Overlooking rolling green fields and majestic mountains, we watched sheep grazing, deer wandering by, and the ever-changing Highland landscape. It was the perfect setting to unwind, reconnect with nature, and simply take in the breathtaking beauty of Scotland.
