"The staff were very nice, friendly and cheerful, the bed was comfy, the room was hot, the food (dinner and breakfast) was ok. But that’s about it. I don’t understand how a big hotel chain can justify this as a 4 star? The place was dirty, the furniture tired and you could see paint coming off. Let’s not try and pass it as a character property. It needs investment and serious refurbishment as it’s currently a very old and not looked after b&b than a 4 star boutique. "

"We got a lovely welcome upon check in and shown around the dining room and bar area to familiarise us with the layout. Our room was very well presented and spotlessly clean. The en-suite bathroom was very opulent and spacious with nice toiletries. Breakfast was very good with the smoked salmon being some of the best I have ever tasted. "
