"Our suite was perfect for a 2 night stay. The facilities were excellent: swimming pool, sauna, table tennis, squash and fitness room. All set in lovely surroundings near Ballater. Really enjoyed a relaxing break"

"Everything! This an absolute 10! The attention to every detail is amazing. The small hotel is beautifully decorated with a true Scottish theme. The rooms are spacious. Very comfotable bed. Bathroom has large luxurious towels and amenities. A coffee machine, real cups and saucers and snacks in the room. We have never had such an amazing breakfast, despite travelling for many years all over the world! Charming dining room, lovely china. A great experience"

"The room was nice, view's are spectacular. However the hotel itself is tired needs updating even just a lick of pain, new flooring etc would work. Beautiful walks and grounds. Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was ok nothing special but not expensive. The pictures in the website wasn't a true representation of the hotel as I said needs a good update and clean. The bath in our room needs replacing asap I'd say. However everything else was good"

"Hotel was clean and warm with lovely decor, seemed to have been recently decorated. Staff service at breakfast was superb , as was the food from the varied menu. It was also great that they encouraged us to bring takeaway back to the lounge when their own restaurant is not serving - a good way to support neighbouring businesses. "

"What a lovely night away we had, the hotel is stunning and probably the best small hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room was huge and decorated to a very high standard. The owners are so nice from start to finish and can’t do enough for you. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel."

"Morag and Davey were wonderful hosts with a beautiful home. Morag making sure I was happy and making a beautiful cooked breakfast every day I was there. Davey even reinflated my tyre with his tractor so I could get my car to the local tyre fitting place. The room was very comfortable, warm and had everything I needed for a very enjoyable 3 night stay for snowboarding at Glenshee, which is only 15 minutes up the road. I would love to stay there again, and another huge thank you to both Morag and Davey for their hospitality. "
