Old Barn is in a delightful area with beautiful views. Lovely having use of a pool & hot tub. Children loved the animals & soft play. Having the dog field also great. Think certain areas looking bit tired & could do with new tea towels & bathroom towels. Only gripe was having to strip beds, empty all the bins & do recycling & be out by 9.30 am. We did it - just!!

An enjoyable family week
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Old Barn which provided excellent and comfortable accommodation for the whole family.
The on-site facilities were excellent and varied and really helped to entertain the children (from 20 months to ten years).
We particularly enjoyed having our meals out on the deck with privacy, peace and a great view.

Wonderful Property
We had a fantastic weekend at Coulscott and couldn't ask any more from either the property or the service received. The Old Barn has been beautifully renovated and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location was lovely, set in a very picturesque valley.

Enjoyable
We had a great three generation family stay. Plenty for the children to do, they loved feeding the animals, playing in the Wendy house and pirate ship, exploring and of course the pool.
Alice very helpful. Home from home.

A truly excellent family stay in any season.
Excellent accommodation & facilities for a multigenerational family stay eg all en-suite bathrooms and separate family areas . V spacious outside decking area with hot tub . The children loved feeding the animals & the swimming pool . The latter having rather high levels of chlorine - too much so for some sensitive eyes & skin.
Great location & walks around the property would certainly highly recommend.

A haven of relaxation
We had a wonderful week in this beautiful place. Plenty for us all to do on site and in the surrounding areas. Loved our daily feeding of the animals. The children loved the independence of going off and using the play area, especially the trampoline. Alice & Luke were fantastic hosts. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for a family holiday
We went with our adult children and grandchildren (6 adults, 2 toddlers a baby and a dog). We were blessed with good weather so it made our week even more enjoyable. Pool and soft play was great and used them a lot. Drove to Ilfracombe and Woolacombe beaches very easy to get to. Went to the Wildlife & Dinosaur park in Combe Martin 5 mins drive away. Walks and feeding the goats every morning was a great fun. Hot tub was used most nights after kids went to bed. We even stayed an extra night we didn’t want to leave. It has the most amazing views and you are instantly relaxed when surrounded by such beauty. Alice was on hand for any questions and also on sight. It was plenty big enough for our 3 families with our own separate areas in the barn itself. We will definitely be returning next year!

Family week the Coulscott Old Barn
This is the second year that we have had a family week at Coulscott. It is an exceptionally good place for a family in a safe, yet interesting, environment. Lots for the children to see and do, they love the animals and the play areas as well as the swimming pool. You feel that everything has been thought through to make your stay successful - even buckets and spades available to borrow and lots of books for bedtime stories. If anything goes wrong it is sorted out immediately!
Just one comment about the Barn. Why are the doors for the dishwasher and waste bin cupboard so inconvenient?
It’s true that the best sandy beaches and other attractions can be a distance away, but the children really enjoyed Watermouth Castle.
Altogether it makes a great place for a family to stay.

Beautiful house - not the most family friendly
The Old Barn was beautiful but as a large family group it didn’t provide the most practical of facilities. Hiking through the lounge and upstairs to eat on the deck was a mission. The dishwasher was in the most ridiculous cupboard which was a nuisance to open, as was the bin! It lacked a tumble dryer which is essential for families on wet days and we had to ask for cleaning materials such as a mop to keep the floor nice during our stay. Please also consider relaxing your rules about dogs, we found it beyond stressful trying to keep them out of the lounge and contained within the garden space, its not practical for them to be on leads all week.
With the large price tag that comes with the property and the early check out time of 9.30am, we felt it totally inappropriate to ask us to strip our own beds and empty the bins before we left - not least because the general rubbish bins are not big enough.
On the plus side, Alice and her team were lovely. Dom and his partner were a highlight and there’s no doubt Coulscott offers a lovely setting. Review completed by the family.
