Secluded "Hidden Heaven" Vintage Cabin on Strawberry Creek, Walk to town

“Old Idyllwild” charm. Authentic mountain cabin built in 1923, right on the edge of Strawberry Creek (literally). You can open any window in the cabin and hear the seasonal creek running through Idyllwild. A short, lovely 10 minute walk (4/10 of a mile) from the center of town. Secluded location hidden from road, surrounded by beautiful grove of pines, redwoods, oaks and dogwoods. A perfect retreat to reconnect and rejuvenate. Home is also walking distance to the local creekside amphitheater. Stop by there on the weekend during the summer to enjoy concerts in the park. Or listen from the back deck the sound of music filtering through the trees.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING:

Streaming services are available, but guests must log in using their accounts.
This vacation rental is not equipped with air-conditioning.

-Cancellations: Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a full refund, with a $150.00 cancellation charge. Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund, plus a $150.00 cancellation charge.
No Cancellations are Allowed for November, December, and January.

- NO ANIMALS ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. SERVICE ANIMALS ARE NOT ALLOWED DUE TO THE HOMEOWNER BEING ALLERGIC. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Check-in instructions: On your arrival day, the reserving guest will receive a text with check-in instructions between 3:30 and 4:00 PM. Please stop by our office to retrieve your key from the lockbox.

- Parking: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

- Outdoor lighting: Please note that outdoor lighting must comply with Riverside County regulations and must not blink, flash, or rotate. Guests will be held liable for any "light trespass" on surrounding properties.

- County permit number: 001440

- Rental agreement: Please review our rental agreement for our house rules. You will receive an emailed version to sign, but if you prefer other options, please inquire.

- Age restrictions: Due to the new County of Ordinance 927.2: We no longer accept reservations for anyone under 21 years of age.

- Confirmation: Upon booking this property through Airbnb, New Spirit Vacation Homes will send you a direct email confirming your reservation. Attached to this confirmation will be a contract you need to review, sign, and send back within 24 hours.

- Incidentals: We reserve the right to request payment for any incidentals. This includes but is not limited to firewood, pet fees, special occasion requests, personal grocery drop-offs, pay-per-view movies or sporting events, and damaged property.

Guests booking this home under the age of 25 years of age will provide an additional insurance for $70.00 non-refundable on the day of arrival.

Relax in Idyllwild

We went up for the weekend for some relaxation. The sound of the creek was "heaven" and only a short walk to town for eats. The deck overlooking the creek was spacious and we will definitely be back.

The cabin was a hidden haven.

This lovely cabin was tucked into the hillside overlooking a creek. It was a beautiful setting, secluded but close to town. There was a nice nature path behind the cabin that took you to town. There were 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms that allowed each couple their privacy. A good place to read by the fire and enjoy nature.

A couple of weeks in Idyllwild

We really enjoyed our two weeks day in this charming vintage cabin. The creek location is perfect. The furnishings we’re very comfortable and the rental agency staff we’re excellent in helping to resolve a minor issue. Perfect place to read a book, bbq on the deck or explore the town.

Hidden Heaven Review

We wanted an older rustic style cabin with a great big stone fireplace. A cabin that felt like a trip backwards through time. Hidden Heaven is precisely that! Everything about this cabin was nostalgic. From the fresh smell to the warm thick blankets available for you to wrap yourself in during the cold nights. Also, it’s location! Less than a 10minute walk to the center of town via the trail path behind the cabin. We cannot wait to stay again!

Adorable

We stayed here for a wedding that took place at the Harvey House up the street and it was super easy to walk to and from the venue. The house is adorable and you feel like you’re staying at grandma’s house. Very cozy, very clean. I accidentally locked myself out of the house and they had someone there to let me back in within 15 min. The creek behind provided a beautiful background when out on the patio. Would definitely stay here again.

The creek in your backyard Full of birds, fully stocked kitchen, Very comfortable beds and bedding and hot showers. They could use Some higher powered lightbulbs. Every spice you could even think of is there. It is furnished as you would expect a law car cabin with the modern conveniences.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is my third time staying here, and it never disappoints. I never want to leave! The only suggestion I would make is the lighting needs improvement. I know we're going for cozy cabin lighting, but I needed a flashlight to cook and do a puzzle in the middle of the day. Just upping the brightness on the bulbs a little would make a big difference and make the stay even more enjoyable. Another thing - we accidentally locked ourselves out upon arrival because we didn't realize the doorknob had an automatic lock on it, and there didn't seem to be any Plan B for that circumstance. Luckily we were able to resolve the situation on our own, but otherwise I have no idea what we would have done because it seemed that no one was available to help at all. It seems like an emergency plan should be in place for this kind of thing.

Reviewer Comments: This darling cabin is nestled among the pines, right next to a running stream- couldn't have asked for a more tranquil and beautiful setting! We thoroughly enjoyed the setting and the ability to walk into town was a bonus. Cabin had all the amenities one could want....highly recommend this beautiful home! One thing to note- we were in Idyllwild when the temps were unusually high (95 degrees!). There is no AC in this cabin; however, I will say because of its location, the cabin remained cool and the evenings were very comfortable. The cabin had several large fans available, as well.
