Relaxed splendor
Mincke was a beautifully bespoke whalers cottage, with fabulous curation reflective of its heritage. Everything we could ever want and need was catered for. We’re now feeling relaxed and restored after a long weekend away.

The property was extremely well located close to the beach and cafe. The “shack” was very clean and spacious and had all the facilities you need for a relaxing stay. We will be back.

What a cute, beautifully decorated and well-stocked little cottage ‘Whalers’ is! The location is brilliant & it was extremely comfortable for two people who like each other a lot. Wish it wasn’t so far away so we could come back again very soon!

Minke was a gorgeous place to stay . A cute and historic cottage, nicely furnished with everything we needed, and more. Position was perfect - beach and lovely cafe nearby and close to lovely walking tracks. Booking was straightforward and some last minute communication with the owner (our fault) was swift too Can't wait to re -book :)

Cosy sea view cottage
A beautiful little cosy escape with sea views and the breathtaking surrounds of the gorgeous Hyams Beach. The cottage had everything needed, and the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Thank you! We will be back.

Beautiful Hyams Beach escape
The weather broke for us with hyams putting on a display. Sun and beach amazing with the whalers cottage our lovely home. Big deck, lovely decor, modern facilities make it a great cottage for a couple. Not to mention the history. A big thanks…..loved it.

Escape to Minke Cottage
An easy 2.5 hour drive from Sydney, Minke Cottage is only a 2 minute stroll to the beach, for us it was perfect for that quiet weekend away. But beware the visitors' book is filled with marriage proposals, engagements, anniversary visits. Whatever you reason, just go, Minke Cottage is a delight, beautifully renovated and decorated, the photos did not do it justice.

Cosy Classy Cabin
The perfect cabin for two. Styled and accessorised beautifully with balance, quality linen and towels, Country Road crockery, perfectly done. There were so many games, books, even marbles, and hundreds of movies for the indoor types. For the outdoor lovers across the road both left and right are accesses to the most beautiful beaches in the world with the whitest sand and crystal clear aqua water. December temps were the best in the 20's for this cabin as it was not too hot or cold. Just right. The perfect little place. Would definitely book again.

Cute historical cottage
The property was so cute. It was easy to get access to and easy to navigate around. It was a minute walk from the beach as well. The house had everything we needed. Dean was very easy to communicate with. It’s a lovely house and we have already told our mates about it.

Lovely place to stay
We thought it was a really lovely place to stay, Clean, very comfortable and everything we needed was there. There was easy access to all of the local towns. Just one suggestion - we couldn't work out how to use the oven so it would be great to have the oven instructions in a kitchen drawer :)

A fabulous location, that (understandably) gets congested during peak periods. The cottage was comfortable for two people, though some amenities needed a refresh for true luxury.

Cottage has everything you need, is comfortable and very well presented. Light and airy inside, plus outdooor sunsoaked deck. Perfect location for walking Hyams beaches and trails, or a short drive to Booderee national park. Highly recommend.

Tranquil beachside villa
Beautiful cottage with stunning view from the front porch. Tastefully decorated with personal taste from the owner. We had an wonderful time during our stay. Minute walk to the beach and cafe. The only one recommendation is to change the bed as per mentioned by previous visitors that the bed is a bit hard of our liking, otherwise is perfect.

Lovely cottage with some challenges
The Minke Whaler's Cottage is very well presented and in a great location, though there are a few challenges below the surface. We stayed on what turned out to be quite a cold weekend, and the two space heaters weren't quite enough to really warm the whole home. The kitchen is well appointed, but some of the cookware was dirty / poorly cleaned. As others have mentioned, the bed is very firm and may not suit everyone. Also, with 3 other old cottages on the property, you *will* hear neighbours moving about -- it sometimes sounds as if they're in your cottage. Overall, we had a nice stay, but not sure we would return for the price.

Hi Matt , Thanks for your feedback - we really appreciate it. The bed is new but sorry to hear that it was not to your comfort liking. We also provide a heater in all 3 rooms and the bed also has electric blankets but it was a very cold , stormy weekend. Thanks again . Kind Regards

Idyllic retreat - we didn’t want to leave
Minke Cottage was certainly paradise. Even if it wasn’t located at Hyams Beach you would not be disappointed. The interior was spacious for two with everything you could possibly want for that relaxing break away. We loved all the quality pieces from cushions to pictures, furniture to appliances. Lots of character but nothing feels old or tired as decorated to high standards. Everything the owners write is true. Sit out on the front deck with breakfast in the sunshine looking towards to sea and yes you can hear the waves. Retreat to the back deck to catch the evening sun and still see the sea. Tips: Hyams beach cafe is a must to visit. They do takeaway meals to make your stay easier! Food delicious. Walk to Huskisson but catch a taxi back! Stunning beaches, well marked paths. Sadly as from the UK it will be a while until we are able to stay at Minke again but certainly recommend it.

We loved this surprisingly roomy little cottage. The owners have updated with a designer’s touch. Beautiful and charming details, from polished floors to comfortable bedding, lovely dinnerware and top-of-the-line appliances. Across the street from a stunning beach (albeit the bay view is only partial due to intervening homes). Our affable host was very responsive. e.g. I asked about beach chairs and they magically appeared. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
