I'm not sure I want to share this tip because it's such a perfectly kept secret, but in the teeny, remote "town" of Reykir (there's really almost nothing there), is a little hostel that was nearly empty while I was there. Behind the hostel are two natural hot spring-fed pools on the edge of the ocean. Really basic accommodation, but there's a full kitchen and the pools are worth the stay. This is where I first saw the northern lights! #iceland #northernlights #hostel #hotspring
