About this property
Cozy Cottage on Hillside with Breathtaking Mountain Views, 3 mins from Route 1
- Experience the ultimate Icelandic retreat in our cozy 1-bedroom wooden cottage perched on a peaceful hillside, just 3 minutes from Route 1. Enjoy sweeping panoramic views of untouched mountains and pure wilderness, offering a serene escape from city life. Perfectly situated between Reykjavík and Akureyri-each about 2.5 hours away-this cottage is an ideal base for exploring North Iceland’s natural wonders.
Just a 30-minute drive brings you to the iconic Hvítserkur rock formation, a 15-meter tall basalt sea stack known as the "Rhino Rock" or "Troll of Northwest Iceland." This striking natural monument, shaped by centuries of wind and waves, resembles a drinking elephant or dinosaur and is a favorite spot for photographers, bird watchers, and nature lovers alike. Nearby, you may also spot playful seal colonies along the Vatnsnes Peninsula.
For your convenience, the town of Hvammstangi is only 15 minutes away, where you’ll find grocery shopping at the local supermarket, charming restaurants like Sjavarborg offering fresh seafood with fjord views, and the Icelandic Seal Center, a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts.
Whether you seek tranquility, adventure, or a gateway to Iceland’s spectacular north, our cottage offers cozy comfort and breathtaking scenery for an unforgettable stay.
