River/Lakeside home with the perfect vibe for people who need to chill! 3 formal bedrooms, additional 1 futon, 2 bath, large open area living space with open kitchen and dining area and beautiful screened-in dining area as a back porch. The views are UNREAL! Gas fireplace for cooler nights. For you chefs there are XL green egg, outside gas griddle 36 in., and all the normal kitchen amenities. Riverside doc, boat ramp for smaller craft, and a mile from a free boat launch. Decks galore for your chilling pleasure. Surrounded by nature and an unbelievable bird and wildlife population. Opposite shore is TVA owned and sparsely populated on a 64,000 hechtacre Lake Wheeler. World class bass fishing. Excellent ski and recreational boating. Kayak and stand up paddle board on site. Adjacent property to the west is unbuilt and is a haven for incredible bird population. Wifi and Smart TVs available, but we know you don't care about those. Excellent place to gather yourself, recharge, write music, or a launch pad for Huntsville, Athens, Florence and Muscle Shoals attractions. We'd love to share this with right minded folks seeking peace and tranquility. This is a very clean and nice house and incredible location. Excellent beds. It is surrounded by wild things, so if wild things and nature bothers you, this might not be the right location for you.

Great place to have a relaxing getaway. Was nice being able to sit out on the dock and fish. Loved the ping pong table. Great table to play cards on! Host was easy to communicate with!

Great view for relaxing

We really enjoyed our stay. The back porch was our favorite spot to watch birds (take some bird feed to put on rail for good view). Beds were comfortable. Quiet area. Plan to go back in future

Lovely Weekend Retreat

Our family stayed for an extended weekend together. The accommodations were spacious and the screen porch was a great place to enjoy the lake views. The beautiful sunsets each evening were magnificent! It was our home away from home, and we can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful and relaxing

We loved this property! We were torn between a beach vacation and visiting family in Athens. So happy I found this house on the water, which allowed for a relaxing lake view and close proximity to family. Even with rain every day, it was lovely.

Wheeler Lake House

Peaceful retreat

This house was amazing! It was very clean and comfortable. The decor and furnishings were interesting and well grouped. I did not want to leave! I will definitely return for another stay at this peaceful, relaxing spot.

Great Lakeside Property

If you like hanging out in the sun on a dock over the lake or in the shade on a deck above the lake, or in a covered screened in porch further above the lake, you'll enjoy yourself here. The description is accurate. A bit out of the way, which may be the reason to choose this property. Still, Athens is only 20 minutes away, and the NASA Space Center is an easy trip.

Peaceful getaway

We stayed here for my son’s college fishing tournament. It was great being right on the lake with amazing views. The house is bigger than I anticipated from the listing. The indoor space accommodated 8 easily. It was kind of cold when we were there so we couldn’t take advantage of the outdoor space, but it was well appointed for outdoor cooking and entertaining. The rental is about 20 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants, and I liked being away from the noise. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay!

The house was beautiful and comfortable. Very homey, had everything we needed for vacation. Loved my quiet morning coffee on the porch. Beds were very comfortable. I highly recommend the house. Will definitely rent again when we come back this way. Owner was great, answered all our questions quickly, very responsive.

Thanksgiving with Friends

We went back to Huntsville where I grew Up to visit old friends. We had a great stay. The King size bed was very comfportable. My wife actually commented on it as we have had many bad beds in the past. Thhe only issue I had, and knew going in was the distance to Huntsville. But we did enjoy our stay very Much!

Amazing View

We had a great stay. The views of the lake are absolutely stunning, including the sunsets!! We were able to take our dogs, which was awesome, just have to make sure and stay with them as there is the boat launch with a steep drop off to It on the property. The rooms were all nice and cozy, everyone had an excellent nights sleep! Carter the Host was great, he answered any questions we had and was available whenever we needed!

Back porch relaxing

You couldn’t ask for a more peaceful place to relax in the screened porch overlooking the water. There is a large table with plenty of seating and several zero gravity chairs for a nap. The porch is shady, so even when the sun was blazing you could enjoy being outside with the gentle breeze coming off the water. This one is definitely a place that we’ll come back to.

First Christmas Away

We have never vacationed during Christmas before. This was a perfect choice. There is LOTS of room in the house. The beds are very comfortable. The owner was very attentive, checked in via text just to make sure all was well and see if there was anything we needed. Fishing, simply from the dock, was fun and rewarding with 5 lb catfish and the largest bluegill I’ve ever seen!

The only thing I’d change is to stay longer

We loved our stay here, I just wish we’d had a longer trip. The house is spacious and gorgeous, beds are comfy, the house was clean, kitchen was well-equipped, and pet-friendly. Super easy to find and such a pretty drive getting there from Atlanta. The flowers and yard likewise beautiful, with daisies, pineapple sage, and mums (I think they were mums) in the front, and a picnic table too! The views are breathtaking and hands down our favorite things were the screened in porch and deck. Y’all. It’s insanely beautiful with the sun on the water in the afternoons. We were there during a cool fall weekend so didn’t get in the water but man did we enjoy the porch and deck. Our host, Carter, was absolutely wonderful, super communicative, responsive, and helpful. Super enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again next time we’re in the Huntsville area. Thanks so much, Carter!

Amazing stay!

I was in the area for an extended business trip and wanted a relaxing place to lay my head after long days at work. This place was exactly what I was looking for and more. The owners are great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here!
