Walking distance to pubs and the sea

Great location and very well appointed. As a six ft tall guy I would have preferred a wider bed in the main bedroom. Other than that, this property is highly recommended

Winter break

Sea Holly cottage is a very comfortable home from home house to stay with all needs catered for. Location is fabulous to walk out to the beach and also local shops, deli and pubs. What more could you ask for. Only slight negative to us was that we found sleeping in a double bed a little small but certainly wouldn’t stop us booking here again.

Lovely, tidy and cosy cottage, I would only change the coffee table to a smaller one as caught my leg on corners a couple of times. Other than that a perfect cottage .

An excellent property, excellent location for walking and pubs for food.

This was our second stay in Sea Holly Cottage. The cottage is in a quiet location in a village offering good places to eat and a deli. There are beautiful views from the rooms at the front of the cottage. There are good walks straight out of the front door. The cottage is very attractively decorated and is extremely comfortable. There is a useful boot room with an entrance from the back of the cottage. The kitchen is well equipped with good quality crockery and utensils. The heating and hot water are very efficient and the log fire makes a cosy sitting area on chilly evenings. I’m sure we and our golden retriever will stay in the cottage again.

A lovely cottage.

Sea Holly Cottage is a fabulous place to stay, situated in the nice village. Good walks from the doorstep are a bonus, as are the three good pubs in Thornham.

Sea holly and the barn owl

Having stayed in Thornham before we love the tranquility and sea holly is in the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere. Sea Holly is the best equipped property we’ve ever enjoyed, it’s just a shame that we always eat out. Luxurious down bedding is a joy for those who don’t have feather allergies and the huge glass table in the lounge could accommodate your train set, although the walk around is a little tiresome. Finally the barn owl can be relied upon to perform twice daily and the front bench makes for a comfortable viewing point.

Blissful location

Blissful location, the coastal footpath is just a few steps away so fabulous for dog walking. Thornham is between Holme Nature Reserve and RSPB Titchwell so it's a birder's paradise and a foodie's too: three excellent dining pubs, plus the Deli and Drove Orchards with Eric's Fish & Chips and the Chicken Shack. All dog friendly. Sea Holly Cottage has one big drawback in that the garden is fully paved with inaccessible borders so no place for 4-footed relief (photograph needs updating). Other than that it's a very comfortable stay.

Short Stay for local wedding

The house was well designed and tastefully decorated and equipped. Basic essentials were provided. Felt like a real home rather than just a holiday home. Good, well maintained outside space at the rear Only minor criticism was the size of the glass lounge table which rather dominated the room and, I would imagine, could be a problem manoevring around for small children.

Excellent stay

A fantastic house brilliantly laid out with everything you need. Outstanding location just far enough from the village centre to be quiet, but close enough you can walk to everything easily. Very well decorated to feel homely. Good standard of equipment in kitchen and house in general. The only downside was the size of bed in the main bedroom was a very small double/large single. In a house of this standard (and price point) we would have hoped for more. A nature lovers paradise with marsh land out to sea from your front door and the north Norfolk coastal path virtually going past the house. We shall return!

Lovely stay at Sea Holly Cottage

Have stayed in the old Sea Holly and Wigeon before, but this was our first stay in the new Sea Holly. Cottage was just as expected and as always with Jenny's accommodation, everything is of a very high standard. Beautiful weather made the stay even better. Thornham itself is a beautiful village with three pubs, a deli and Drove Orchards. There is always plenty to do. Will return. Brownies and Elderflower Presse were amazing.

Perfect

Sea Holly is in a perfect location, next to the coastal path, overlooking the marshes, quiet street, within minutes of the Deli and three village pubs all of which are good. The accommodation is well thought out, with good quality fittings, linen and crockery. All what was needed was provided, even down to dog bowls and towels. If there are any negatives the patio area was unloved and it was very hot with no parasol for the al fresco dining table and better shower facilities in the main bathroom would have made living more comfortable.

THE JOYS OF THE WEST NORFOLK COAST

The weather for this June week was glorious, the quiet location of this comfortable and well equipped cottage overlooking fields with water buffalo, the twice daily visits of the local Barn owl and the distant views of the marshes to the sea made the choice of Thornham ideal. Without having to travel great distances there were many very picturesque villages, wonderful farm shops, delis and restaurants, and coastal areas that should the weather not have been so kind, would have still been a good part of Norfolk to visit. Paradise if you are keen on walking / birdwatching /doggy walking . What greater review can I give than to say that I look forward to going back before too long. .understanding that whilst the sun was shining for us and the Coastal wind not too brisk it is a truly lovely area of Norfolk.

Another lovely holiday at Sea Holly Cottage

Sea Holly Cottage is a fairly new build cottage situated in an excellent location overlooking the marshes with views out towards Thornham harbour and Holme dunes nature reserve. The coastal path and walk over to Thornham harbour are literally 30 yards from the front door and you will often catch sight of the barn owls hunting or the muntjac deer. It is also within close walking distance to the Orange Tree, Chequers (these serve excellent food and are very dog friendly) and the Lifeboat Inn. The cottage itself is very well equipped and tastefully decorated, with all the amenities you would expect. It's very dog friendly too, with a fully enclosed and paved garden. This is our second visit to Sea Holly Cottage and we can't wait to go back! I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone and Jenny, the owner, is lovely and very welcoming.

A lovely cottage, beautifully

A lovely cottage, beautifully equipped and in an excellent location. Only criticism is that with 6 adults perhaps 2 showers would be more practical rather than one shower and one bath. This was mentioned to the delightful owner who visited during our stay.

Excellent holiday accommodation for Dog owners.

Over the past 12 years we have rented various holiday lets in Thornham where we have been able to take our Pembroke Corgi. "Sea Holly Cottage" came well up to our expectations, as we had seen the construction of this property and was very familiar with the location. Both this cottage and the adjoining "Widgeon" are very comfortable with excellent décor. They are also well designed for Dog owners. I would be willing to recommend either cottage to friends, due to both cottages popularity in advanced bookings, which surely speaks for itself?.

An ideal escape

We had a wonderful four days at Sea Holly Cottage with our dog and would definitely return again next year. We discovered that Thornham had many great dining options and the kitchen in the cottage was well equipped for dinners at home. The back garden was secure for the dog and there was a tap to hose off muddy dogs. The house was super-clean and tidy, with beautiful decor. All in all - ideal.

A stunning and comfortable cottage in an excellent location with lovely views.

We had a weekend at Sea Holly and would thoroughly recommend. Lovely cottage in a great villlage with excellent pubs. The cottage provides everything you need and has the right balance between modern amenities and some period and interesting pieces which make for a cozy and welcoming home. There is a beach which is about twenty minutes walk from the cottage across the raised walk way between the marsh area and fields (near the lifeboat pub) which is more than worth the walk to. Simply stunning.
