This hotel has many pros and cons. Overall, the stay was pretty good.
-Comfy beds
-Clean rooms
-Nice swimming pool
-Outside seating area for breakfast
-Many options for breakfast
-Close to many restaurants and bars/pubs
However, the room is definitely not soundproof by any means. The first night was a difficult one due to:
-Very loud employees in the hallway at 10pm (slamming doors, talking right outside our door, etc). It took opening the door twice to have them stop.
-Echoing noises from neighbouring rooms
-Loud music from surrounding establishments
-Sounds from pipes in wall and fridge operating all night
Also:
-Beware of the water in the shower. After running it awhile, it will suddenly get scalding hot.
-The hotel is said to be smoke-free (there are no-smoking signs by the elevators); however, the ashtrays misconstrue the rule, and therefore, there were smells of smoke every so often.
-There are signs explaining how to help the environment by hanging your towels so they aren't replaced each day, but housekeeping does not follow that and replaces all towels anyways
-The gym has many bugs in the evening, and the doors were said to remain open, making it less enjoyable to exercise
