The lodge managers were really lovely and warm helpful people. The kitchen facilities were fabulous and very clean. The rooms were a good use of the space but a little bit noisy at night which is expected in a lodge style accommodation. We had a great stay there. Really great location, close to the road and bus stop so easy to unpack gear and get bus down to the village.
Great location next to the bus stop, friendly helpful management, good vibes, comfortable beds and brilliant kitchen facilities. Can’t ask for much more

We loved our stay here ... the small amount of rooms means not too many people which made for a really friendly shared atmosphere with he other guests. We will be back!
Great spot, awesome managers and friendly members.

Cosy Lodge Perfect for Families
Loved our 3 Night stay with outstanding house managers.
Nevertheless, there's always room for improvements. To start with, i suggest that you should have proper steps with handrail outside the lodge downhill leading to the steps already in place. This is a necessary safety feature to assist loading and unloading.
Thank you very much for having us.

The hotel had a very friendly feel to it and was perfect for our group of friends to stay just a few nights. It was also in a very ideal location.

Childhood Memories
Love this lodge, my parents used to own shares in it so I grew up coming here my whole life. It's been about 5 years since I was here last and it's just as I remember it... so it probably needs an update. Also, there were some pretty disrespectful families staying there. Their children were jumping and running wild upstairs in the evenings and it was too loud to even sit and read a book in my room downstairs with all the thumping. We were woken up in the night by babies crying and then again at 5:30 in the morning by the same thumping children. They were also running around the halls screaming upstairs and downstairs and I had to ask them to leave our hall at one point. Saw the same kids graffiting toys and books that belong to the lodge. Seems like there needs to be better rules and more management around the way people conduct themselves in shared facilities. I'd definitely stay again because of the nostalgia, but if it wasn't for that then I probably wouldn't.
My teenage son and I were welcomed into Tanderra Lodge. Everyone was very friendly and helpful with advice. Great views, very comfortable and well laid out.
Great value. Rooms are basic but comfortable, and the kitchen, common areas and ski drying facilities are fantastic. People are friendly. I'll be back!
Had a great relaxing time, the people staying were of a wide cross section, older couples, families and younger singles. Made for a very relaxing environment after being out on the slopes all day. Walking distance to great eats and the Mt Hotham bus stop right out front made travelling around the resort very easy.
Pros:
It's not too far a walk from the road to the lodge to haul luggage at the start and end of your stay as compared with some other lodges.
Because you're at the end of the bus line the bus is always empty in the morning which means you always get a seat on the way up, or you can take davenport access route to the bottom of the Village chair from just across the road in front of lodge.
The kitchen area is well stocked and kept very clean as are the rooms and bathrooms.
The staff were friendly.
The couches in the upstairs area are very comfortable and the drying room is very efficient and has enough space to accommodate the number of people in the lodge.
Cons:
The walls are thin and doors slam loudly, if you stay here bring ear plugs.
The age group at this lodge seemed to be middle-aged to older with quite a few young children running around. If you're a young adult and hoping to be social with other people your age it's not really the place.
The lounge area downstairs is quite separated from the area upstairs and people tend to "claim" the whole room.

Thanks for your review Katherine, we are a very family friendly lodge.
A really nice stay near the mountain. We arrived really early for the ski season thus we owned the lodge to ourself for the night. The kitchen area is superb!! We regret we did not bring good food materials to cook a nice steak dinner. The view was fantastic too. And the entertainment area downstairs was good. We had a cozy movie night.
However take note that Mt Hotham charges entry fee (parking) and the resort does not have free parking.
Only a one night stay for us but in the short time we were there we experienced all that's great about ski lodge stays. Great community vibe, awesome kitchen facilities and perfect location. Our family had a terrific time at Tanderra and we look forward to our next stay. Thanks guys.
Really nice lodge. Very warm with modern facilities. Looking forwards to staying again next season.

Good location, friendly staff.
Friendly staff and good communication. Easily accessed and great location close to bus stop, pub and stores. Comfortable, relatively low-price rooms, however the blanket had a strange odor, so might be worth bringing a sleeping bag just in case.

Thanks for your feedback. Pleased you enjoyed your stay.
It was pleasure to stay at Tanderra Ski Club.
We enjoyed a lot and it was a home like feeling.
Lodge was very cosy and comfortable and manager (Joe) was very helpful.
We would definitely recommend Tanderra Ski Lodge to our friends.
Many thanks!
Satinder Chandel.
We arrived for check in and realised the room I booked was for couples and very small for four single adults, the friendly staff was very helpful and up graded to a larger room. Check out was late we had plenty of time to go enjoy the mountain and return before leaving the room. Thank you to the staff once again
Rooms are incredibly small, 2 rickety jerry built double bunks and single bed in a room 3.5 x 3.5 and was overcharged $400 per night that took too long to be rectified.
Booked 2 rooms at this lodge as I have a big family (7 alltogether). Received an okay confirmation from wotif as per usual. Next day received another email from wotif stating my booking was canceled and to call the lodge. Called the lodge
and talked to Jane. She said they only had one room avalable now not two. Members have preference and they gave one of my rooms. End of story, not even an apology. And that was the end of my family holiday.
