"We enjoy the location of the Papakea Resort and have stayed there a few times. We enjoyed our stay. The living area was comfortable and clean. There were several beach items (chairs, umbrellas etc) available for our use. The bathroom, specifically the shower area, was a bit dingy and in need of an update. Overall, we were happy with the condo and our stay was a good one."

"The property and our studio was perfect. Two pools, shuffle board, putting greens and lei making class. Stores and restaurants in walking distance. The only thing is that there is not a beach right at the property but easily accessible."

Upon arriving their was attention to little details such as towels folded as a swans, tissues folded into roses, chocolates and coffee. "We have stayed at this condo resort 2 years ago and came back. It is very nice location on the ocean with great sunsets and a relaxed vibe. They have tennis and pickleball, mini golf, shuffleboard and pools and hot tubs. Parking is included in the resort fee which is reasonable. The room itself was a nice studio condo. It has a full kitchen, fridge, etc. It is larger than a standard hotel room. The room has some wear but overall it is nice. We will definitely be back to stay here again."

"From the moment you walk into the unit you can see the blue waters and it sets the tone for the perfect Maui vacation. You will see turtles (lots of turtles) whales in the distance and lots of fish if you snorkel just steps from your door. Great sunsets every evening and we made sure to leave the sliders open every night to enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Great location, easy communication and perfect setting. "This is our second stay in a row at Papakea, and seeing as how it was just my husband and I, we opted for a studio, as it provides all we need. This third floor unit was perfect. Up to date with lots of amenities, fully stocked kitchen (including some vintage Pyrex, which I love), super comfortable bed (medium firmness), ceiling fan and AC, and the best view. The only issue is the text on VRBO states that it has 2 and 1/2 bathrooms when actually the upstairs bathroom is a 3/4 bath with a shower and the downstairs bath is a half bath with a sinking toilet. "We LOVED Hono Koa! So much so we didn’t want to leave. We are a family of five and two bedroom and two bathrooms were perfect for our family. We loved having a kitchen and bbqs and we cooked at the condo most nights making the trip much more affordable. We loved the pool and the grass area where we watched the sunset every night!
