    A little history
    • The Silver Streak Clipper, with its distinctive twin `alien eye` look, traces back to Wally Byam, the founder of Airstream. He designed the Clipper while working for the Curtis Wright Trailer Company in the late 1940s.
    • After Curtis Wright closed in 1949, three former employees formed the Silver Streak Trailer Company and continued building the Clipper, keeping the iconic curved windows until the early 1950s, when a redesign brought in square windows.
    • Of the 2,000 or so Clippers originally produced, only around 200 are thought to survive today, now treasured and spread around the world. Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful caravans ever made, the Clipper`s twin `alien eye` look is a timeless symbol of style and design.
