"Stayed here 2 years in a row for Thanksgiving with my out of town boyfriend and his mother. Last year there was a small issue with a TV in my room and instead of just fixing the issue, I was upgraded to a deluxe suite and allowed to keep the other room! This year, met the same staff member who not only remembered me, but upgraded me AGAIN on the spot before i'd even checked in! Aside from even that, the property and location is gorgeous. The amenities are many, and the rooms are a great representation of ontario woodland living. I'll be taking the staffs advice, and staying here every year at minimum. Thanks for an amazing vacation spot for me and my loved ones."

"We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights in the late fall. The property is very clean and updated. All the amenities of home were present as were simple things like soap, tea, coffee, towels and BBQ tools. The dishes, cups and glasses were all new and modern. There is a woodstove in the family room that heated the entire property quickly. A sauna close to the house was a big hit with my family. Wood was provided in addition to adequate kindling. The wifi is excellent and needed as the cellular service can be spotty. Adam was an excellent host, very fast to respond to any questions that guests could have. Walking trails were so peaceful that we anticipate a future return."

"Loved the lake view and private beach. Bunkie was cute but we didn’t use it as it was just 2 of us and our dog. Really enjoyed having a space that was pet friendly. Nice quiet stay. Decent fishing too - we brought our own small boat but it’s nice that they have canoes to use if you don’t have one. Space could’ve been a bit cleaner, numerous cobwebs inside. Kitchen cabinets could also use a tidy. Not much room for dry food storage, might be a good idea to bring some hard-sided totes to keep dry food in. Deck has a few screwheads sticking out of it, watch your step - our dog sliced his paw open on one of them & we had to take him to the vet."

"Nice property next door to museum. It is walking distance to grocery store and liquor store. Also you can walk to 3 restaurants, Anglers pub and restaurant was excellent."

"A South River Gem – Absolute Perfection!The Blue Door Inn is a true South River gem, and our stay was absolutely perfect. The attention to detail made the home incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. Each bedroom was remarkably spacious, featuring exceptionally comfortable beds and fabulous linens. The thoughtful touches—like having two cozy bathrobes and a dedicated basket of towels ready in every room—did not go unnoticed.The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to cook every single meal, and the deck featured a large BBQ alongside plenty of comfortable seating. The hot tub was another fantastic addition; it was private, spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and incredibly relaxing.We want to give a huge thank you to our hosts for providing the perfect home for our family of six to spend an amazing weekend together. With three families travelling from different locations to connect under one roof, this space could not have been more ideal. We highly recommend it!"

"I booked a surprise getaway for my husband and I - and we have officially found our new yearly place to stay at! Booking with John was so smooth. His property is beautiful, quiet but yet with so many things you can do. The views from the docks were breathtaking. We laid in the hammock, enjoying the sun and the fall colours across the lake and read a book. At night we started the woodstove, cuddled up and enjoyed a movie. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook every meal. John was also phenomenal at communicating, and answered any question we had. We look forward coming back next year with our family."
