"Super friendly staff, well kept room and a cosy restaurant with delicious food. And if you love Christmas, this is the place for you. Most background songs in the restaurant where piano versions of Christmas songs (in July). On the negative side but also was a bit amusing in retrospect was the couple that walked in to our looked room while me and my girlfriend were full on enjoying each other. They politely left though. So all good."

Hotel Marburger Hof

Hotel Marburger Hof

10/10 Excellent
"Germany is very eco-oriented. If you decline a daily cleaning you can put a small bag on the knob and they will skip your room but put in a little gift of some sort. If you are renting a car, parking is a little problematic as it is in many hotels and cities in Europe. The hotel underground parking spaces are very small. If you have a larger vehicle it is almost impossible to navigate the space. We did end up with a scratch on the rental vehicle. We will rent smaller cars going forward. Breakfasts were varied for all tastes and complimentary, definitely a plus! Staff were great, room perfect, location perfect for touring Marburg. Would definitely recommend."

What is the best area to stay in Holzhausen?
The best area to stay in Holzhausen is the village centre, particularly around the Holzhausen Castle (Schloss Holzhausen) and the park.

This central area offers a pleasant, traditional German village experience. You'll find a few local guesthouses and holiday flats located among historic buildings and green spaces. The Schloss Holzhausen, a picturesque moated castle, is the focal point, surrounded by a well-maintained park ideal for leisurely strolls. The main street, Schlossstraße, runs through the heart of the village, with the church and a few local eateries nearby.

Couples looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway will find the village centre particularly appealing. The opportunities for peaceful walks through the castle grounds and the surrounding countryside are plentiful, and the local guesthouses often provide a cosy, personal touch. It's a lovely base for exploring the regional beauty.

This period is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling through the Habichtswald Nature Park. You'll find the local gardens and fields in full bloom, offering lovely scenery for strolls.

Early autumn also offers agreeable weather, with temperatures usually between 10°C and 18°C, and the added beauty of the changing leaves. This season is superb for exploring the historic village centre and enjoying the local cuisine in a cosy setting.
